// BACKGROUND
Taylor's mother was 18 when she found out she was pregnant and it was to no one's surprised that her father skipped town soon after. They lived in a mid-sized town on the outskirts of London that seemed to inspire nothing more than staying where you were, surrounded by your childhood friends, until you faded into nothing. Although her home situation was less than ideal, with her mother being less than stable throughout most of her childhood, Taylor had ambitions outside of that crappy town.
Being a highly intelligent young woman Taylor worked her way into Oxford medical school, pouring her younger years into study (and a fair bit of Oxford nightlife). She graduated with superb grades and went on to continue her training up until qualifying as a General Practitioner. During those years it became more and more apparent to Taylor that a lot of her happiness relied getting away from her mother and working in a London hospital was never going to achieve that, she needed to do something bigger. It was barely worth all the years of medical training to work in the UK either way, but the US? Now that sounded like a better deal. And what better way to scrub away the years of English rain and woe than to move all the way to sunny California?
She arrived in Aurora Bay a few months ago after finally finding a hospital that would sponsor her VISA. It was a bit small compared the cities she's become accustomed to in recent years, though thankfully the Cali sun and sea were a big departure from her hometown. However, Taylor started to wonder, wonder who she was outside of these ambitions she'd concocted as a teenager and stubbornly never let go of. She had it all now right? Great job and... and... Well, Taylor was always busy, or stressed, or stressed and busy, there had to be more to life than this.
// PERSONALITY
Taylor's life revolves around her work nowadays and as a result she's usually pretty tired and hard to get ahold of, but she appreciates the effort of anyone who actually has the willpower to drag her out into the world. She's intelligent in a logical way, and is highly logical and rational/calm about things as her line of work demands. She has authority at work but is generally more easy going outside of the hospital.
She's confident in herself, but has started to become insecure about the way her life has played out and how fulfilling it truly is. She needs hobbies, desperately.
She's somewhat nihilistic, and she could do with someone to convince her that there's a more romantic way of looking at the world (Please let me know if this could be your character).
Despite definitely needing some intervention, her insecurities tend to make her a bit defensive and therefore bad at taking advice, she might need a little persistence!
