Hi! I'm Tea , and I'm 53, but I'm living my second 30s or something.
I acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of this country, Australia. In particular, I acknowledge the Indigenous Elders of the Dharug, Eora, and especially the Gundungurra people, to whom I feel especially connected. This is where I live and learn and pay my respects to their Indigenous Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was and always will be, Aboriginal land. I started transitioning in June '23, and I'm so fucking happy about it. This is me! I'm also neurodivergent (AuDHD), and I'm so fucking happy about that too. I would love to learn from other queer and neurodivergent lifeforms. I'll be sharing my experiences and stuff here.
I'm a practising Artist, obsessed with the Art in the Process and the Journey, loves Sound, images, ignored things, artefacts of capitalism, installations, performance, doing, being, inhabiting, and ideas and conceptual exploration.
I'm also a former university level teacher in Arts, Creative Media, and related Theory, with a speciality of working with neurodivergent humans (and occasional non-humans as required). Police Scotland had initially said there was no criminality but have now confirmed a 50-year-old has been arrested and charged.
This is bullshit, you can now be arrested for tweeting meanly about a politician’s death.
Was it misguided? Sure. Should she have stopped posting her way through the backlash? Probably.
But let’s not pretend this is due to anything other than Anne Widdecombe being an old conservative, and the Aberdeen University worker being a trans woman.
Transfemmes need to get the fuck out of the UK. You can be arrested for simply speaking ill of fascists who want you dead once they die from things unrelated to you. You can get thrown into a male prison and r*ped, tortured and detransitioned for simply speaking ill of the dead.
Trans women have no way to fight back in the current UK legal climate. Plan and save up for getting out, I already know a few transfem refugees from the UK down under, you'd hardly be alone.
Also, given something similar happened to me several years ago - find more esoteric and safe ways to find catharsis and deal with oppression (not that she said anything wrong). They are looking for any reason to arrest you, don't give them one. Practice opsec.
maybe the 'nonbinary to binary trans pipeline' is less of an example of how being nonbinary is a phase and more of an example of how nonbinary people are pushed to be binary in order to be taken seriously, even by supposed trans allies.
yes, there are people who realize they're binary trans after thinking they're nonbinary, but I dare say those people are the minority, and a lot of us are just forced to come out as binary trans instead so people will stop treating us like a lite edition of our AGAB. it's another form of being closeted.

what is it with people constantly trying to assert that “binary trans people” are somehow easier for conservatives to stomach when almost every single international and domestic anti-trans policy/ruling is explicitly (if not exclusively) about trans women. you can talk about the issues nonbinary people face without writing fanfiction about reality

Tldr Amnesty International, global human rights organisation, published a report called 'A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK'. In it is detailed, amongst others, a whole bunch of transphobic groups and organisations, including Beira's Place, JK Rowling's trans exclusionary sexual violence support service. JK Rowling threw a shit fit and got Amnesty to take the report down by threatening libel. This was obviously not enough, because you can't appease a fascist, so now she's going to bankroll a bunch of lawsuits anyway through the JK Rowling Women's Fund.*
