You had been at work all day. Every minute sucked so bad, and every customer seemed to be harsher and harsher, until it was hard to even look anybody in the eyes.
You had clocked out, bought some soda at the gas station, and drove to Pope's house. You knew you were slipping, you could feel it permeating your mind, the need to be small curling around your brain. It sucks, when it gets this bad where you have no choice but to regress.
You park your car outside Pope's apartment and stumble up the stairs to his door. The tears build in your eyes even though you try to fight them back. You shove the door open, finding Pope sitting on the couch watching some nature documentary. You burst into tears before you can even say anything. You close the door and stumble over, basically falling into his lap.
"Woah buddy. Talk about an entrance." He mumbles gently, letting you curl up on the couch and press your face into his tummy. He runs his hands through your hair gently, over and over.
"I'm so- tired." You choke out through the sobs. He hushes you gently, cradling your head softly. He knows days like this suck so bad for you, and he knows that your mind gets small. But he enjoys taking care of you, his boy.
"Okay bub. What about we go to bed?" He inquires softly, hauling you up so you're sitting up right. You cry harder, your stubbornness shining through. You hate being told what to do, even if it's for the best. He smiles fondly, pulling you to your feet and walking you to his room.
"Don't wanna." You cry, but he just rubs your back softly. He knows you're tired even if you deny it and beg to stay up. Even though you just admitted how tired you were.
"Baby, how long have you been wearing this?" He asks, tugging gently on the shoulder strap of your binder. You flop on the bed in a puddle of tears, and he sighs. He knows it's a fight every time to get you out of that binder. "You have to take it off. I'll give you a kiss."
You whine, throwing your head back against the pillows. He loves to barter with you, offering kisses and snacks in exchange for you doing your daily tasks that sometimes get hard to do when you feel little. You oblige anyways, lifting your arms up in the air as you sniffle and sob.
He snatches a hoodie off the floor, one of your favorite hoodies (even though it's his). He then works you out of binder. It's a little difficult because you lay there like a rag doll. He quickly gets you into the oversized hoodie, before you can even get a glace of your chest. He doesn't want you to feel worse right now.
"Okay, let me give you a kiss now." He teases, pressing his lips to your forehead, and getting you all comfortable in bed. He grabs the box from under the bed, with all your gear. He hands you a small stuffed shark, watching as you curl around it.
"Want your binky?" He asks, offering it. You nod and he pops it into your mouth, before tucking you in even more. He lays down beside you, his strong arms surrounding you. He listens to the small noises of contentment you make, watching as you slowly drift off against his chest.
He knows it's not easy for you on days like this but he knows he'll always be around when it is hard. He taps the binky in your mouth gently, pulls tha blanket up around you further, and sits silently all night. He watches like a sentinel, making sure his boy is all taken care of.
