Bloody Bones
AKA: Rawhead and Bloody Bones, Tommy Rawhead, and Rawhead
Origin: British Isles
The Myth:
Bloody Bones is a boogeyman originating from Ireland and spreading throughout Britain. Having its first mentions in literature around the 1500s, Bloody Bones apperance had changed since then, or at least has multiple variations. Some say he’s a shapeshifter and no one really knows what he looks like, others say he’s pale and has large dull eyes always crouching, an old man covered with scars, a large dog, or a burnt victims with sharp teeth and claws.
Originally it was said that Bloody Bones lived near a pond or body of water, however it is now more common to hear that he lives under the sink pipes and under the stairs. More likely than not, if children were to look in these places they would see Bloody Bones crouching on top of a pile of bones with blood running down his face. As with most boogeymen, Bloody Bones is said to come after naughty children and drown them in a pond or in the drain pipes. He can also turn children into random useless objects in order to have the parents mindlessly throw them out. Besides scaring children out of their minds, Bloody Bones will also reward the good behaved children.
Bloody Bones is still around today, making appearances in modern media and having spread to the United States, became very popular in the southern half of the country. So remember, be good little children and you won’t find this thing staring at you menacingly from under your sink.
THE GODDESS MA’AT. Since it’s almost Halloween, I thought adding a death goddess to my Goddess Series was fitting!
Ma’at is the Egyptian goddess of truth and order. She spends a lot of time in the Egyptian underworld. According to the Book of the Dead, after you die, the canopic jar that contained your preserved heart (the organ that housed the soul) was set on one side of the Scales of Judgement.
Ma’at then placed her Feather of Truth on the other side. The jackal-headed god Anubis then weighed the two against each other.
If your heart was lighter than the feather (and therefore pure), Anubis sent your soul on to eternal life. If it was heavier, your soul was fed to the crocodile-headed demon Ammut.
Ma’at was sometimes symbolic shorthand for everything that bound together Egypt as a civilization (civil order, natural law, personal morality), and sometimes a personified goddess like this. Either way, you very much wanted her to come down on your side.
I had lots of fun trying out some illustration techniques from Kali Ciesemier and Ryan A!
Black Angel of Iowa
AKA: none found
Origin: United States
History:
Nestled in Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City, Iowa, USA, stands a black angel with supernatural connections. Placed in the cemetery in 1912, the angel overlooks the remains of Teresa Dolezal Feldevert an immigrant from Bohemia. She brought along her son, Eddie, as she worked as a midwife in the city. When Eddie died meningitis at 18 years in 1891, she buried him in Oakland Cemetery with a tree stump monument (still there today) and moved to Oregon.
There she married Nicholas Feldevert who then died as well in 1911. Heartbroken she moved back to Iowa City and hired a man to make a bronze angel statue to have as a monument for both her husband and son. She had him make it in a fashion that made it seem as though the angel was hovering over them, protecting them with the wings.
The Myth:
Why is the statue now black if she had it made in bronze you might ask? Well scientists say it’s because bronze is a metal and it’s natural oxidation because it is old. But, that’s boring compared to the stories others have come up with. Some say Teresa was a strange woman, whispers of murder and infidelity arose. And the angel turned black because she was then buried under it as well and her sins turned it so. Even the position of it is strange, angels are typically upward.
Another story to explain it is that Teresa vowed to remain loyal to her dead husband and said the angel would turn black otherwise. Some say it turned black with the sin of murdering her own son.
As these stories came up, so did others. If a girl gets kissed under the angel, she’ll die in six months. If you touch the statue on Halloween, you’ll die in seven years. And if you are feeling dumb and brave, kiss the statue. She’ll stop your heart beat, permanently.
(This black angel is not to be confused with Iowa City’s other black angel, the one at Council Bluffs. Expect a post of that one as well.)

BANANA WALNUT F U N T I M E ! ! ! ! !
Banana
Walnuts
Cottage cheese
Cinnamon
This is such a cute and cool thing to eat at the beginning of or end of or really any point during your day. Mix up those ingredients and just eat it with a fork or whatever. But H O L D U P . Pour some motherfuckin chai on that bitch and damn. You can use other kinds of milk and then it’s just like this super healthy nongluteny granola thing (walnuts are super dope for you btw and cooler than granola or other cereal things), but I think you can tell by the use of bold lettering on the word, “damn” that chai with this stuff is 2die4.
I used Bolthouse Farms vanilla chai because it’s proteinful and dairy-free and it’s got vitamins C, B12, and B6 like whoa aaaand it tastes good.

If we weren't stopping for pie so much we'd be in Vegas by now.
The salmon is a Celtic symbol of wisdom, inspiration, and rejuvenation. This is why… Once long ago, an ordinary salmon named Fintan dwelling within the Well of Wisdom ate nine hazelnuts that fell from nine hazel trees surrounding the sacred pool. By this act, the salmon gained all the wisdom of the world. Moreover, the first person to eat of its flesh would, in turn, acquire this knowledge.
The poet Finn Eces spent seven long years fishing for this most-prized salmon with no success. Then, one day, Finn Eces managed to finally capture Fintan and gave the fish to Fionn, his servant, with strict instruction not to eat it. Fionn cooked the salmon for his master, turning it over and over, but when Fionn touched the fish with his thumb to see if it was cooked, he burnt his finger on a drop of hot cooking fat. As a reflex, Fionn instantly stuck his burnt finger into his mouth to ease the pain. Little did Fionn know that all of Fintan’s wisdom had been concentrated into that one tiny drop of fat. When he brought the cooked meal to Finn Eces, his master saw that the boy’s eyes shone with a previously unseen wisdom. Realising that his servant had received the wisdom of the salmon, he gave him the rest of the fish to eat. Fionn ate the salmon and, in doing so, gained all the knowledge of the world. Throughout the rest of his life, Fionn could draw upon this well of wisdom merely by biting on his thumb and he used it to become the leader of the Fianna, the famed heroes of Celtic myth. — A Celtic myth. Mythological Creatures #34 (Your daily dose of myth history it might just save you’re life) Today’s creature: Skriker (Also known as Brash, Trash, Shriker)
Features: A large Black Dog with glowing eyes Source: European Mythology Habitat: Europe
One of the Black dogs of European Legend. The Skriker originates form Lancashire in England. The dog has glowing eyes and makes squelching sound(What its too cool to bark like every other dog?). It walks behind or beside travellers. If it is beaten or killed this would lead to death and disaster of the traveller but to ignore it will bring bad luck (So unlike other Black Dogs this one doesn’t kill you as long as you don’t kill or hurt it so pay attention to it and wait until sunrise and it will leave).
fellatiousphantasm replied to your post: so youre cas’ other friend. are you a demon hunter too?
Yes get her.
I can't tell if you're serious.
But I'm not just going to 'get' someone? I'd at least need some proof that she's dangerous.
so youre cas' other friend. are you a demon hunter too?
That depends, are you a monster?
