i could rant forever on how yugi mutou is the goth one, yugi is the one wearing the choker & leather vest under his uniform, atem/yami isnt. there’s even a manga panel where he comments on yugis clothing choices, but he’d never change them because atem loves the guy & he’s gracefully allowing him to occasionally take over as host. now if atem had his own body? cardigans.

your weird obsession with moral purity is degrading your critical thinking skills and poisoning your ability to empathize with other people btw
Do you feel that, the change in the air?
GUESS WHAT ITS WIDE WITCH WEDNESDAY
i’ve been watching peacemaker and just learned vigilante/adrian chase was in the new teen titans comics? was be a villain? did he fight robin/nightwing?
Yup, he was in The New Teen Titans. He worked with Dick in TNTT, but Dick was appalled by how Adrian disobeyed the law, and he didn't want to work with Adrian anymore. Dick had just left and was outside Adrian's building when it blew up, killing Adrian's wife and his two kids. Adrian became Vigilante after that.
So, no. Dick didn't technically fight Adrian, but Dick wanted to bring mobster Scarapelli to trial, and Adrian wanted to kill Scarapelli. So they were in conflict over their methods of justice.
They do end up fighting in Vigilante's solo series, after Dick becomes Nightwing.
Vigilante vol. 1 #20
Adrian eventually killed himself, but part of me wishes they'd bring him back as a recurring Nightwing antagonist. Though it may feel too derivative of Daredevil and Punisher (though that didn't stop them with Nightwing vs Blockbuster basically being Daredevil vs Kingpin).
Chase also feels a bit like the Harvey Dent to Dick's Batman, in that they're both DA's that they worked with who eventually went crazy from the mob traumatizing them.
Notably, Wolfman did bring a Vigilante back in Nightwing vol. 2, but it was Dorian Chase, Adrian's brother.
Nightwing vol. 2 #134
man i hate when im chillin at home with my water and my insomnia and the wettest nightwing you've seen in your life slides in through the window and tells me im insane

This is it. The internet has come full circle. You can all go home now. We’re done.

I got 7. I’ve done the remaining 13 things at some point.
I got only 6
7 for me too!
1 - record songs from the radio but only because I never really listened to music on the radio. I was so close to a perfect score but being from a non-music family let me down 😔
Much of female trans identity is based in an unwillingness to analyse and grapple with misogyny and how deeply it can affect women, and an unwillingness to work towards changing this.
You want to be able to go outside shirtless? Let’s not think about how disturbing it is that women are denied such a basic freedom. Let’s not work to make the female torso be seen as neutral as the male torso. Let’s just say that you want this freedom because you’re not actually a woman (women who call themselves women are fine with their breasts being seen as something in need of censorship), and let’s encourage you to get “top surgery”.
You don’t identify with femininity? Let’s not consider that femininity exists as a tool to oppress women. Let’s not talk about the ways that femininity is forced onto women and girls, which will naturally lead many to despise it. Let’s not insist that femininity and masculinity aren’t innate, but rather are social constructs that need to be done away with. Let’s do the opposite and insist that you actually have a masculine soul and that you’re not actually a woman (because women who call themselves women just love femininity so much).
You feel uncomfortable with she/her pronouns? You feel more comfortable with her/him and/or they/them? Let’s not examine the way that he/him and they/them are used as default for living things, while she/her is used as default for objects. Let’s not think about what it does to a woman’s self-perception to be referred to the same way as a man’s treasured car. Let’s not try to change the way we use pronouns for living things vs objects. Let’s just say that you’re not actually a woman (because women who call themselves women never feel uncomfortable with this phenomenon), insist that everyone call you anything other than she/her.
When you insist that discomfort with misogyny and female oppression is a sign of not being a woman at all, the implication is that women who don’t want to pretend they aren’t female are comfortable with said misogynistic oppression. They identify with it. This leaves no room for actual discussion and change, because whenever a woman tries to open a discussion to promote change, she’s met with “well maybe you aren’t a woman? Cis women don’t think like that”.
It’s the easy way out. It’s much easier to believe that you have a soul that was meant to be exempt from the oppression you experience—unlike those other women who enjoy it—and that you can escape it with an identity change, than to confront the fact that misogyny and female oppression runs deeper than most women want to believe, and that the only true way out is to fight for change.
The reason a man can’t legally club you over the head and drag you back to his house is because a lot of women who came before you were called loud, and annoying and shrill, and evil, and witches and stupid and sluts and harlots and sinners and ugly and spinsters and lesbians. Now they’re called terfs, nazis, Karen’s and femcels and bigots.
There has never been a point in history where feminists engaged in actual positive change were well liked and warmly received. To be feminist is to be hated and called whatever the Worst Thing Possible currently is btw.
If they like you it’s because the hard work is done.
