EB: *he carefully turns the room dial to Rose's weird tentacle symbol, and when the door appears he knocks on it nervously*
TT: *she marks her place in her book and sets it down before walking over to open the door* Hi John.
EB: *he quickly puts on a grin* hi rose!
EB: i'm not interrupting you am i?
TT: *shakes her head* Not at all. Would you like to come in?
EB: oh, uh, yeah okay. probably better than standing around in the door.
EB: *he chuckles sheepishly and steps over the threshold*
TT: *she steps aside and closes the door behind him* How have you been?
EB: pretty good! considering our situation.
EB: maybe getting really sick of fruit.
EB: how about you?
TT: *nods in agreement* The fruit has grown old quickly, but otherwise I have been entertaining myself with some things I collected from one of the games.
EB: wow, you scored some loot from the games?
EB: what did you get? a jetpack?
EB: a new weapon?
TT: I found some books, puzzles, and writing supplies.
EB: oh.
TT: *smiles* You're welcome to borrow them at any time.
EB: well, uh, that's still kind of cool i guess. and thanks! i'll keep it in mind.
EB: um, these games are actually the reason i wanted to talk to you.
TT: Did you get stuck in one of them?
EB: no!!
EB: i actually... haven't been in any of them. :(
TT: That is not something to be ashamed of.
EB: well, maybe not, but i did tell you i'd join you for that st. mystere level!
EB: and then i kind of ditched you.
EB: so i wanted to say sorry about doing that.
TT: That is quite alright. St. Msytere was more bothersome than entertaining, so I don't blame you for not playing.
EB: even if it was a boring level, it was pretty crappy of me to say i'd help you out and just bail without warning.
TT: Really, John, it's okay. You shouldn't scold yourself for that.
EB: i can't help it. everyone's been playing their butts off and somehow i just... never jumped in to help out.
EB: i mean, i'm our friendleader! i should have been the first one to play a game. especially with you guys.
TT: Then consider yourself forgiven, at least by me.
TT: It does not help anyone when you are only worrying about the past.
EB: i...
EB: *his face scrunches up as he seems to consider her words*
EB: ...i guess you sort of have a point.
EB: i mean, it's not like any of us have time powers anymore.
EB: or any powers at all.
EB: except some of the trolls which i personally find unfair! but whatever.
TT: That's true, but we are all still at a disadvantage given these circumstances.
EB: yeah... and i mean, the trolls did get hit pretty hard by how this messed up sequel works. one of them isn't even alive anymore!
TT: So I've heard.
TT: If all goes well, though, she should be recovered soon enough.
EB: *he looks at her like "you know what i meant stop being cheeky" but nods*
EB: yeah, and then maybe things will finally improve around here!
TT: One can only hope.
TT: *she takes a rubik's cube out of her inventory and hands it out for him* But for now, I think you should focus on trying to recollect yourself before you can rush to someone else's aid.
EB: *he blinks a few times in surprise but takes the cube without much hesitation, looking it over* uh....
EB: thanks, i guess?
TT: I read that having something to do helps clear the mind.
EB: oh. well, i've had something to do.
EB: trust me.
EB: it was an annoying something but... *he shrugs*
TT: That does not make it insignificant.
EB: i hope not because man!
EB: after all the work i put into it, i'm hoping it'll be really significant.
EB: at least to the person it was meant for.
EB: *he's sort of fiddling with the cube, turning the rows and columns*
TT: Would you like to talk about it?
EB: uh. *he stops messing with the cube abruptly*
EB: it's...
EB: kind of a surprise!
TT: Oh?
EB: all right, it's definitely a surprise.
TT: I'll take your word for it.
EB: thanks rose. :)
EB: you'll probably hear about it when it happens.
TT: I'm sure I will. Word travels fast when there are less the population is this small.
EB: haha, yeah. but i'm not sure exactly how he'll react so you might LITERALLY hear about it when it happens!
TT: I'm tempted to ask what you are up to, but since it is a surprise I suppose I will just have to wait.
EB: yeah sorry about that. i didn't mean to tease you like that but it just sort of slipped out!
TT: That's okay. I don't think I'll mind waiting when there is no sure way to tell time here anyways.
EB: you're right. that does make it a little easier.
EB: but it makes me wonder just how long we've been stuck here.
TT: *shrugs* We just don't know, and I doubt we will know for a while.
TT: I think it is the game's way of trying to manipulate us even more than it already has.
EB: *sighs* probably. nothing but fruit to eat, no walls, no way to tell time. i guess we should feel lucky it gave us rooms!
TT: I can only imagine how long we would last without private rooms.
EB: yeah. it would be crazy enough with both genders, but adding trolls to the mix? and there's, like, EIGHTEEN of us??
EB: complete massacre.
TT: That would make eliminating us too easy, though.
TT: Whoever or whatever wants us stuck here certaintly thought this through.
EB: exactly. it's like the way a sadistic, criminal mastermind thinks!
EB: and upon realizing this, i asked myself.
EB: what would nic cage do?
TT: *she can't help laughing at that* If only he was here to share his lukewarm wisdom.
EB: wait, do you think maybe we'll get the chance to play a nic cage game?!
EB: sort of like that weird legend of zelda mod that puts his face on all the characters!
EB: but BETTER.
TT: Somehow I doubt that even this game is sadistic enough to force us to play that.
EB: hey come on i doubt it would be that bad.
EB: unless it was based on con air or something.
TT: I beg to differ. No one could take a game seriously if his face replaced any characters.
EB: i bet vriska could!
EB: just crush all of my dreams, rose. :(
TT: *she covers her heart with a hand* My sincerest apologies.
EB: nope. i don't believe you. *he turns away, nose in the air and arms crossed over his chest; having captchalogued the cube*
EB: you hurt me deep, rose.
EB: what are you going to do about it?
TT: *laughs a little* I will probably let you go so I can read in peace while you contemplate your preferences in actors.
EB: aw you're no fun. :(
EB: tired of my company already?
TT: I could never have too much of you in my life.
TT: Except when I am half a chapter away from figuring out who stole the cookies from the cookie jar.
EB: hmph.
EB: well, all right. i guess i understand.
EB: i mean i'd hate if someone interrupted me right before the big climax!
TT: *smiles* The climax has not even begun yet. I just happen to pay attention to details.
TT: I'm sure Dave and Jade would appreciate your company, though.
EB: was that your way of telling me to go annoy them instead?
EB: *he raises an eyebrow at her and smirks*
TT: I don't know what you are talking about.
EB: sure you don't. but okay. i'll go let them "appreciate my company". :)
EB: *he heads for the door* thanks for the cube, rose. and, uh...
EB: the other stuff.
TT: You're welcome, John.
EB: *he sends her another grin before absconding back to the hub*
