iida’s never considered kaminari to be a slacks-appreciating kind of man  —  after all,  just look at him  —  but,  he’s not one to turn away a true connoisseur once they’ve revealed themselves to him,  either.  thumb and index finger cradling his chin,  iida squints his eyes and studies his classmate for a moment ; he could be setting him up for a… cruel practical joke… unless? 

kaminari-kun must be hinting that he’d like a matching pair this christmas. it’s the only explanation. however, it’s important that the recipient of a gift doesn’t know what he’s getting, so maybe i should dismiss him. or, maybe he’ll think it’s cool if i tell him his — whatever those are — are cool too. maybe i should…

“  well then … until christmas, kaminari denki.  ”  it’s quite poetic how the wind tustles his hair in that moment and he looks longingly at his friend skateboarding away ( he shouldn’t be skateboarding on that pavement, he thinks to himself ), imagining what kind of slacks he’d look best in. he’ll have to figure out how to slyly ask his pants size at a later date. until christmas, indeed.
