i can't emphasize enough how much of a post-apocalyptic horror story thranduil lives in. homeland destroyed and half his people massacred. has fucken sauron in his backyard and the spawn of the primordial beast that eats light puttering about on his lawn. a dragon lives next door. does NOT have a magic ring and is therefore obliged to rule over his murderforest in normal time

just so we're all on the same page here, legolas' day job before joining the fellowship was to hunt the spawn of the primordial beast that eats light and it's not like, a big deal or anything. he just has to do it. he's used to it.

You gotta understand that some people never really grow. They never learn their lesson. They never recognise their mistakes, they never acknowledge their faults, they never admit they were in the wrong. You will never receive an apology from them, and you will never see their behaviour change.

yes, everyone is CAPABLE of growth and change. everyone has the RIGHT to growth and change. but no, not everyone will CHOOSE growth and change. some people are not interested in and cannot be made interested in self-improvement or self-reflection. some people will go their entire lives refusing to admit they might be wrong or examine their own behaviors. some people will never, ever accept responsibility for the effects they have on people and the world around them. humans are varied; some are just always gonna be like this.

it is VITAL to understand this if you’re the kind of person who tends to pour energy into helping others, especially if there are already people knowingly hurting you who consistently show absolutely no interest in changing that behavior. you can’t forcibly make them want to change who they are. you aren’t going to find a way to convince them to suddenly care that their behavior is hurting someone.

the motivation to change and grow comes from within. others may inspire us, but WE have to decide we want to be better and work towards that. until they decide that for themselves, nobody else can do it for them. and they might never. people are mortal. we are a finite series of choices. it is entirely possible to make mostly selfish ones.

everyone CAN grow, but not everyone will. not everyone wants to, and nobody can force the desire to grow as a person on someone else.

Holding up the microphone to you what are your top 5 favorite transformers?

Do I have to pick 🥲 there are so many cool lil guys-

BUT IF I HAVE TO CHOOSE! (in no particular order)

1. Soundwave

All Soundwaves are best boys, but TFP is just such a boss they had to nerf him before he singlehandedly won the war, and his design is just so pointy 💖✨. Then there's TFA who is so cool, love that he was a tiny guy in a big suit, and how much they leaned into the music themes??? Would pay to see a special/tv movie where he has aaaall the other cassettes as instruments too.

2. Rodimus

I basically only know Hot Rod(imus) from Cyberverse, the 86 movie, and bits and pieces of IDW, but I think he's an interesting fire themed guy. As far as whether he's a good leader or not, I think Cyberverse did a job developing that he can be, would love to see more stories like that. Following in the steps of an icon like Optimus would be hard enough, but he's also young, and this is one of few circumstances I'd enjoy watching a succession plot.

3. Blurr

TFA Blurr is my guy, fast and competent? Actually so good at his job Shockwave decided it was more prudent to get rid of him than keep trying to keep his cover as soon as Blurr showed up talking about a spy. Another badass they had to nerf otherwise he'd have been too powerful.

4. Jazz

He's your friendly neighbourhood spy and sabotage guy! Love jazz music, love spy Jazz. Pretty much only know Aligned Jazz but really like how he's written, possible inconsistencies aside. Completely willing to use his status to bend and break rules as much as he can get away with; he's a gremlin with a very good unbothered appearance.

5. Sunstreaker/Sideswipe

They're a set, do not separate! It's maybe kinda cheating, we're ignoring that. I love the concept of split spark transformers, as twins or combiners or anything really, I just think it's neat. Also love the idea of them being Autobots despite attitudes that might be better suited to Decepticons. It was honestly a shame they only had Sideswipe in Rid15, adding Sunstreaker would have made it so much more fun. So I just assume Sunstreaker was back on Cybertron mad (and worried) that his dumb brother got caught up in something stupid when he never came home with their groceries.
