“Oh, you have a neighbor? Where? It didn’t seem like there was anyone nearby when I found your cabin…”

You drone on, every carefully inquisitive phrase and sentence nothing new to the two players watching you unknowingly recite your script word for word. Intermission is over and the second act has officially begun. 

Scene: Foolish girl walks right into an obviously placed trap.

It’s a delicate dance feigning interest, coquettish charms on full display while gently turning down the offers to stay up late that night. Let the hunt begin. 

It’s been hours since you’ve heard the sound of their voices, hours since you’ve heard both of them enter and close their respective doors, hours since you’ve heard any sound at all in the house. Surely they must be deep asleep? 

You can’t risk double checking, not when every footstep you take is already an enormous risk. So instead you head directly for the door, slipping into the shadows as best you can, racing in the direction that Daichi had mentioned their neighbor occupied. 

All you hear is your racing heart. All you see is endless greenery. Yet you feel that something is following you, watching you, hunting you. You don’t dare to fully stop, but confusion laces your natural instincts when every harried gaze backwards reveals nothing but the eerie darkness of the wilderness that encompasses you. 

It feels like you’ve been running for ages, lungs burning, legs aching. Doubt and panic creep into your mind. How far did Daichi say this neighbor lived? Were you heading in the wrong direction- Your spiraling train of thought abruptly stops as the top of a structure peeks out from above the treeline. Could that be…A relieved sob forces its way out of your choked up throat as the outline of a barn becomes clearer with every approaching step. Hope fuels you to the finish line. 

This has to be the neighbor’s farm, but you falter as you draw nearer. For an active working farm Daichi and Kuroo had been chatting a storm up about this morning, it’s awfully quiet. Not an animal in sight. You reason with yourself that it’s simply because of the odd hours. Of course any sane living creature would be asleep at this time. You’re sure the animals are just in their stables and pens. You’ll knock on the door and someone will answer. They’ll help you and everything will be alright.

Knock Knock

Scene: Girl ignores all warning signs.

Relief washes over you as the sight of a cabin becomes clearer the closer you get to your destination and primal instincts take a back seat as you slow down, cautiously assessing your surroundings. 

It certainly doesn’t look like a murder house. In fact you’re almost in awe at how chic and charming the “cabin” in front of you is with its sleek black rustic yet modern structure nestled among a gorgeously curated landscape. The inhabitants certainly had taste and money, but you know better than to immediately equate to being “good”. Do you take the risk of ringing their doorbell?

Life makes that decision for you and your heart pounds in terror at the feeling of a hand grabbing your shoulder, head spinning to locate the source only to be locked in a staring contest with sharp hazel eyes.

The weather had knocked out most of the power in the area leaving you without wi-fi or a way for you to charge your phone and with the roads as flooded and inaccessible as they were, there was little hope of a tow truck being able to take care of your car anytime soon. But you don’t mind the idea of having to stay a few days longer in this cozy cabin if this is how you’ll be pampered. Taking another generous sip of the ruby red liquid in your glass, you wonder how you can repay the two men. Maybe you can help them cook tomorrow…

Scene: Girl accepts a drink from a stranger

Ever the gentleman, Daichi is there to catch you as your body goes limp. 

Kuroo snorts at the chivalrous display, but it doesn’t stop him from eagerly drawing near as he follows the broader man who bridal carries you up the stairs to the guest bedroom.

It’s St. Patrick’s day when Luigi first spots the big, hot headed beast who calls himself king. Eyes blown wide, mouth hung agape, Luigi couldn’t believe the sight before him.

College freshman run wild, their screams ringing throughout the night, disturbing any sense of imagined relaxation. And yet, for Luigi, the room feels silent. His ears ring with nothing but white noise as he gazes openly upon an unsuspecting couple.

Meaty fists paw roughly at the soft pink dress of his friend’s Fiancé, as if ready to rip it at a moments notice. Luigi looks around frantically at first, shock and a tinge of fear riddling his very constitution. He wonders if anyone else notices, if someone, anyone is going to help.

Even from his place across the bar, Luigi felt as though he could taste Peach’s discomfort. Eyes filled with annoyance, face scrunched up in disgust, Luigi watches as Peach desperately tries to wriggle her way out of her captor’s grasp.

But rather than releasing her, the towering figure just laughs, tightening his grip to what can only be described as a death grip.

If not for the careful monitoring of his drinks, Luigi would think this was all just a dream. In this moment, even the floor feels as though it’s against him, rattling viciously alongside the overly boisterous, assaulting figure.

The final straw for Luigi was watching the newly minted and self-proclaimed homecoming king lay his sloppy lips overtop of Peach’s.

An inaudible gasp barely slips off her tongue before Luigi finds himself stumbling off his stool and through a sea of college students in what would normally feel like an almost comical matter.

In barely more than a blink Luigi finds himself completed dumbstruck.

He wasn’t even thinking.

He just acted.

In a flurry of movement and colliding bodies, peach was free of her captor.

But, in his heroic and valiant efforts to save Peach, Luigi had somehow found himself in her place.

It was Luigi’s turn this time tremble under the weight of this man’s gaze. It was his turn to feel the wet, slimy tongue of the school’s resident bad boy brush along his lips before entering inside, before battling his tongue for dominance.

When Luigi’s assailant finally came up from air, after leaving no stone unturned, he smirked, clearly unaffected by the fast switching of partners. In fact, based off what Luigi tried to think of as a… glue stick… pressed tightly against his own hardening crotch, it seems as though his assailant might actually prefer someone like Luigi.

But before Luigi can so much as utter a word, the towering figure before him vanished off into the crown with nothing less than turned back a raised hand in a farewell gesture.

So, in an ironic twist, Luigi is left exactly how he was at the beginning of the night: eyes blown wide and mouth hung agape. The only difference is that this time, this time it’s Peach who’s watching him. It’s Peach who’s taking careful consideration in the way Luigi’s face is flush with more than just embarrassment. And it’s Peach who so rudely points out the now raging hard on pushing plainly against his slacks.
