reminder that i'm over at @annielesterf now! for the most part, anyway
reminder that i'm primarily going to be on @annielesterf from now on! it feels so much better being able to send asks, reply, and not have to worry about accidentally committing thoughtcrimes on main lol
Why do women oppose radfem ideology so much, like what has liberal feminism even offered.
Women oppose radfem ideology because it’s incredibly toxic and close minded. Radfem ideology often wants to take away a women’s choice to do what they want simply because a man might like it when a woman does that thing (such as shaving, wearing makeup, having kinks, ect) Often radfem ideology doesn’t take into account the fact that people are different and that they grow up with diffrent experiences. So this idea that all women should want the same things is just incredibly ridiculous.
And this is coming from a women who also doesn’t agree with liberal feminism. Modern feminism as a whole is deeply flawed and not something I agree with. I don’t like being painted a victim of everything just because I’m a woman.
When have radfems ever advocated for women’s rights being restricted? Yes, radfems have critiqued makeup and shaving culture, but I don’t think any radfem woman would say that women should be forced or pressured to not shave or wear make up, you know, like the opposite of what actually happens in real like where women ARE forced and pressured to do those things
I’ve seen countless radfems shame women who enjoy wearing make up or shaving. “You cant be empowered by make up or shaving or dressing up because that’s what the patriarchy wants you to do.” is a statement I’ve seen multiple times from radfems.
At least libfems realize that women find empowerment in these things because they choose to do them for themselves and no one else.
Saying that something objectively isn’t empowering isn’t forcing you to stop doing it…. are women getting fired or passed over at work for wearing make up? Harassed in public for their decision to shave?
Wearing makeup doesn’t give you power. It just doesn’t. That doesn’t mean you can’t do it, but I’m not going to throw you are party for conforming, and that’s why people don’t like radfems I guess 🤷♀️
Here is the thing though, you don’t get to pick and choose what other women find empowering. If you personally don’t find wearing make up or shaving or anything like that empowering then that’s fine, but that doesn’t mean that other women think the same was as you.
People don’t like radfems because you constantly mock and belittle anyone that doesn’t agree with you, especially other women. You like to pretend that you are better then everyone when in reality you’re just bitter and awful.
We clearly mean different things when we say empowerment. I’m using the traditional definition. A thing is empowering if it gives you power.
What you’re talking about is confidence. Which, sure, different things make different women feel confident. But that has nothing to do with feminism? Individual women feeling confident isn’t going to dismantle patriarchy, because patriarchy is not caused by women’s insecurity.
So, again, as a feminist, my focus is not on what makes individual women feel good. What I care about is the liberation of all women. I don’t wear makeup, and it’s not because I “feel empowered” when I don’t. It’s because the beauty industry is terrible to women and I want as little of my money going to it as possible.
Radfems aren’t going to give you a cookie for making choices that make you feel good, but don’t do anything to liberate women. Honestly, if you have free choices you’re more privileged than most women, and you should probably spend more time thinking about how to help them, rather than which choice makes you feel most confident.
If you’re not bitter, you’re not paying attention to what’s happening to women.
Anyways I really just don’t give a shit what you think cant empower women just because it doesn’t personally empower you lmao.
People like you that don’t ever take in to account how other people feel are exactly why everyone with more then 2 brain cells hates radfems and radfem ideology.
why do you think feminism should be about how you personally feel lol
Liberals literally cannot fathom a world outside their individualist bubbles
Empowerment isn’t on an individual case by case basis. If it isn’t an action which aids in the liberation of womankind, it is not a feminist action. Stop saying it’s empowering or feminist when you really just mean it’s comfortable and makes you feel good
They dont know what empowerment means. And they’re acting like they’re smart lmao.
When people have never read even one radical feminist text but think they’re experts on the theory based on what someone said on tumblr.

the first rule of misogyny
when justice scalia died february 2016, NINE MONTHS before the 2016 election and the GOP (who held senate majority) refused to confirm obama's nominee for his replacement because it was apparently too close to the election for the sitting president to make a supreme court pick, and the next president should be the one to get to do that.
then in 2020 RBG died only TWO MONTHS before the 2020 election and the GOP completely changed their tune and trump's nominee was confirmed virtually overnight.
ginsberg was the first supreme court judge to be replaced in an election year since 1888, defying longstanding practices and directly contradicting what the GOP so firmly held to in 2016 when they refused obama's nominee even a hearing. NONE of this is RBG's fault, it's COMPLETELY a calculated mark by the GOP
@terventenko if you're gonna be a hateful bitch at least do it on my account you little transphobic vermin
lmfao i just wanted you to stop being a pest on my post. for someone with "terfs dni" in bio, you sure do spend a lot of time bothering us.

I wanted to make an easy guide to helping people identify terfs and other radfems.

Witch trials relied on a medieval text called the “Malleus Maleficarum” – a book this reference librarian can hold in her hands.
I just really am so sick of people pretending women aren’t treated like second class citizens and aren’t utterly hated and mistreated in this country bro..it’s enough. I’m so tired of like misogyny I know this is feminism 101 but I’m tired. Of. It. It’s crushing…just the constant reminders from every corner of mainstream culture that if you’re a woman you are worth punishing. Over it!!!!!!!!!!! Going to space!!!!!
also if you’re a terf I hate you and you’re part of the problem please fuck off. now more than ever
Ah yes. Radfems, who recognize sex-based oppression and champion women's sex-based rights, are the problem.
It couldn't possibly be the 'woman is a feeling', and the 'let's include men in feminism cause they will definitely not continue oppressing us if we are nice enough to them' crowd.
Im invoking the holy spirit of Jodi to repel all these pathetic male worshipper demon anons from your inbox #bless #magic #woman #uterus #menstruation #queen #gyn #ovary #goddess #she #vulva #womb #abortion #power #FEMALE

Yes women oppressed and whatnot but hating and oppressing men is no better. Treat every equally. Same with lgbt+ and straight/cis people
how are men oppressed
???
ok… that doesn’t answer anything at all.
oppression is when a woman makes a mean joke online
This may come as a horrible shock to some of you but women do not “deserve abortions less” for having the wrong political beliefs or bank account balance. Just say you think forced pregnancy is an appropriate punishment for women you don’t like next time.
