I’m watching a ufo conspiracy documentary made in 2017 in the vain hope that these things have improved since I last watched them in the 90s

Well, this documentary completely fails to prove that ufos and aliens are real but does an excellent job of exposing how the American media and democracy works, and it’s kind of hilarious because right after delivering what looks like a credible analysis of “and that’s how th USA covers up war crimes” they continue with “which is also how they cover up ufo information”

I mean, I started watching this for some good solid proof that aliens exist and ufos exist and what I’ve got is a lot of x said and y said, that doesn’t prove anything, and also this ruthless take down of the entire military and intelligence and government and capitalism machine in America, which makes me think that this documentary was never about aliens, it was about pointing out these uncomfortable truths and then in order to not be shot on sight they dressed it up in “info conspiracy theories” in order to fly under the radar

Anyway it’s called Unacknowledged (2017) and is on Netflix, if you’ve seen it I’d love to hear your thoughts

lmfao they have moved on from “ufos are real” to “ufos are staged events by the military to indoctrinate people into believing something as ludicrous as ufos are real so that they won’t notice the top secret experimental military aircraft”

I have never before seen a ufo conspiracy documentary start out with “aliens are real! Here’s the proof!” only to slide into “actually what you should be concerned about is the secrets your government is keeping from you, no matter what they are”

That was one interesting document like whoa. The people on it, all of them were like “yeah, aliens are real and they are concerned about what nuclear weapons can do to this planet and so should you. Also you should be worried about US military using UFOs as the next big threat they should fight when they run out of hostile human groups to sell weapons to/kill” and I for one would not be surprised about that at all.

God it was so weird to watch people in all seriousness be like “the aliens don’t like what we’re doing to our planet and neither should you”, like this entire framework is “let’s improve conditions for everyone on earth so that when the aliens get here we won’t be ashamed of ourselves” like what a Hot Take, I love it
