The Great Freshie Tour 2018: Ride Home

Is this year's theme of the biggest Freshie Tour in the flagship campus of the premier university in the Philippines, University of the Philippines Diliman.

I got to UP Diliman at around 7am and by that time, the lines were really long already. I went to the tambayans outside the College of MassComm where I met and waited for my fellow BroadComm freshies. We're all wearing either black or yellow since we agreed upon it. We proceeded to the registration booth to get our nametags and merch. Sayang nga na I didn't have the chance to get some of the freebies and gift certs because some of it were for the first 100/500/1500 only.

We were then asked to choose a team, each team is assigned to an org in UP Diliman. We chose Team 4 (the UP Broadcasters' Guild) because of the obvious reason that we are BroadComm freshies, and we want an org that's related to our course. Haha 😂

Our Ates and Kuyas from the UP Broadcasters' Guild served as our marshalls/guides during our tour around the campus. They all have bubbly personalities, and they are all jolly, and funny, and super cute and approachable. There were different stations where we had to stop and do some activities or play some games. I'm so glad to be part of this team because our team is a winning team. Yes, girl!

2nd pic: We had our photo taken outside the Plaridel Hall, where the UP BroadGuild is based, and also the home of us freshies of the College of Mass Communication.

This photo is me (the one wearing black beside the girl wearing yellow) and my fellow BroadComm freshies. It was so nice meeting them for the first time. We were comfortable with each other, it's as if seeing an old friend, and as if we met a lot of times already. I had a really great day with them. Good job on the teamwork y'all. I'm looking forward to seeing you often around the campus and during Maskom events (even if I'm blockless huhu 😢). Thank you and I love you all.

URL Change

Finally changed my url from parakaydm to thatgirlfromupd. This shift from my old username is somehow necessary for me. My new username is what I think as something that would reflect me, my blog, and my life right now.

Despite of that, I love the url parakaydm so much that I'm getting selfish and I hope that no one thinks about using it in the future because I still love to have it as my own. Thanks to everyone that I've got to know, interact and be close with during my journey as parakaydm, and I hope that you'll stick around with me now that I am thatgirlfromupd.

Parang gusto ko magpalit ng url. Kasi feeling ko my parakaydm url no longer reflects me nor everything in my blog write now.

parakaydm is my url because I used to post here the things that I cannot say directly to "DM" but now nagagawa ko nang sabihin sa kanya anytime, so it won't be the focus of this blog na.

Alam kong wala namang may pake since wala naman ako masyadong kaclose dito.

But what do you guys think?

Sobrang close ng chixx ko (lalaki sya, pero chixx lang talaga tawag ko haha) at nung bestfriend nya tapos nababother ako kasi mukhang sila yung magjowa (itsapwera na ba me? haha)

Inaatake ako ng anxiety grabe.

Hindi naman sa wala akong tiwala sa kanya. Wala akong tiwala sa sarili ko. I am doubtful kung may pwede nga talagang magkagusto/magmahal sa'kin ng totoo. Yung hindi ako lolokohin. Yung hindi lang ako rebound, at hindi lang no choice dahil ako yung laging nandyan para sa kanila. Yung hindi lang para ipagmayabang sa tropa, etc. Yung kontento sa'kin kahit ganito lang ako. Yung proud sa'kin at hindi ako ikakahiya. Yung tatanggapin talaga ako ng buong-buo, walang pag-aalinlangan. Yun bang tipong sigurado sa'kin.

Sa dami ng beses na akong niloko, ipinagpalit, at iniwan sa ere, madalas akong mapatanong kung anong mali sa'kin. Sabi nga ng mga kaibigan ko, dapat na 'kong patayuan ng monumento dahil sa sobrang kabaitan, pagiging matiisin, mapagpatawad, martyr, at loyal. Pero iniiwan pa rin naman ako haha. At dahil dun, masyado na akong convinced na pangit nga ako, at kapalit-palit nga ako. At wala ngang magkakagusto sa'kin na with good intentions, may paninindigan, magiging tapat sa mga sinabi nila, at magmamahal sa'kin ng totoo.
