Wait the Vatican archives are full of Jewish texts? (Knowing catholics, probably heretical and Islamic texts as well). I just assumed it was mostly a bunch of treasury records and council minutes. Maybe some scandalous historical documents at the worst. And that it was hidden because all of the former are uninteresting and the latter they’d rather not let get out.

Yes. They do. I’m not sure if this falls under the Vatican Archive, but the Vatican Musuem has A LOT OF OUR STUFF. Though the Menorah is an ancient legend, that has not been psychically proven. What has been psychically proven is that they do have some of your stuff, that they should not have. This stuff was acquired during mainly Medieval Ages - the time Christianity as a whole was incredibly antisemitic, particularly Catholicism. So more often than not they acquired it from….. less than desirable means.

Please look at that last link: Until 1984 they literally controlled our catacombs. And even then the Vatican remains in charge of the large collection of Jewish inscriptions and other objects found in these and other catacombs during excavations of the 19th and 20th centuries.

I was shocked when I went to the Vatican, just the museum part was so deeply…barely Roman. There was so much Egyptian stuff on display and things from various cultures that have expressed a want to have their things in their country or with their people.
