Stuck between a rock and a hard place

Meh time a rant.... and it's been forever sense I was on here. So I guess here we go.

I'm starting to feel like my family has no idea how it feels to be 17 again.  I'm in high school -struggling too mind you- and no one gets why I can't put myself into the mindset school is the only thing I should worry about.  Don't they get it?  I don't want to be like my sister and live life having to depend on someone else but I cannot just accept that I have to toil my life away at school just too turn around and toil my life away at work.  The very thought of it is so damn boring to me!  I was forced to 'grow up' far too fast when I was little and now my time is up and I've been left scrapping for air and enough silence to gather my thoughts about what I want to be who I want to be and how much do I understand about who I am now.  I'm about to fall apart and none of my family seems to care.  All I ever hear is about how important school is but what is the point if all I'm left with is a bunch useless knowledge and my dreams mean nothing because in this stupid society I must 'look' the part and I don't 'look' the part to be any sort of musician or a writer!  Mom says we need a scheduled so I know when 'school' time is and when 'me' time is.  What I need is for someone other than my girlfriend to understand.  I know I"m not alone here but it be nice if my Mom looked back and realized she was once here in this same spot as me and show a little more consideration to how I feel about this.
