Legitimate question: why do you care if Ukraine becomes part of Russia? Why kill a shitload more people? What difference would it make if Ukraine becomes another republic in the RF? I don't hear Tatars or Bashkirs or Mordvins or whoever complaining about being a part of Russia. If anything, it should be far easier for Eastern Orthodox Slavs that already know Russian anyway to fit in. Ukrainians would still exist, just with different citizenship. It's not like Ukraine was some super advanced country anyway, the day-to-day life would be the same shit.
hmmmm why the leftist transgender lesbian ukrainian patriot doesn't want to be a part of fascistic dictatorship where people get imprisoned for "LGBT propaganda" where people get kidnapped tortured and murdered for the critique of the government or any kind of protest and where discrimination domestic violence and CSAM are legal 🤔🤔 on occupied ukrainian territories you literally get detained in a concentration camp for any kind of pro-ukrainian sentiment and in those camps people get tortured raped and killed. truly a mystery why do i even care
I know that they are asking this as anon to not get kicked in their head. This statement is laced with so much russian propaganda you can literally overdose on it.
1. Why do you care if Ukraine becomes part of russia?
Oh, I don't know. Why would anyone care about freedom or sovereignty or ability to decide what to do? Everyone knows, you should indefinitely bend to someone more powerful than you. There is no other way.
2. Why kill a shitload of people?
If russian army stops, killing stops. If Ukrainian army stops, killing, ethnic cleansing and genocide continues on the never seen before level. I know this personally, since on the first week or so of invasion, my friend in Kherson was kidnapped by FSB and tortured to death. He was bellow 18 at that time. A LITERAL KID WAS TORTURED TO DEATH FOR BEING PRO-UKRAINIAN IN A UKRAINIAN CITY. Imagine if your friends, your Tumblr mutuals, people you were playing rpgs with started disappearing, and months later you would learn of their horrible fate. I want ALL of you to understand, what Ukrainians are living through every day.
3. I don't hear Tatars or Bashkirs complaining...
Another very funny take. Not only I am a descendant of Tatars who fled their homeland because they've lost a war against russians, but also they complain ALL THE TIME.
Not long ago there was civil unrest in Dagestan, Caucasian territory occupied by russia. This was because the central government didn't help with massive flooding and in fact was covering up the catastrophe.
In other words, those "whoever" think living in russia is so good, many of them result with prolonged separatist campaigns like, for example Tatars, Chechens, Bashkorts, Buryats and Yakuts.
4. "Eastern orthodox slavs, who already know russian"
This is straight up imperialist propaganda and a very specific view point you cannot get through just being dumb or ignorant. I will not go on a tangent, but russian orthodox church isn't actually orthodox church, but simply a KGB extension. Then, neither russia is majority Slavic, nor Ukraine is exclusively Slavic. This is straight up ignoring all the other ethnicities as lesser beings who do not deserve representation. And lastly, without russians forcing everyone to learn russian, Ukrainians have no reason to know it. We already have a couple generations that learn russian much later in life or don't learn it at all(i can easily support this with a video of russian higher up saying they need to provide russian lessons in concentration camps, where she is bewildered by the fact that many kids don't know russian or can barely speak it).
Now, quick ones because I am already tired of this shit.
Ukrainians will likely cease existing under prolonged russian control, just like many groups within russia already did. First, lose your autonomy, than language, than culture. That's it. Nation is no more.
And Ukraine is much more advanced than russia is in most sectors, like IT, MIT, some industrial capabilities, engineering etc. Average living conditions are much higher, even though russia is one of the biggest exporters of oil and natural gas. And Ukraine is MUCH more progressive in its political and social life. All of this while being at war for the last 13 years. So yes, while we are not as advanced as EU countries, being inside of russia is way fucking worse.
Anyways, fuck the anon, I hope they get horrible diarrhea. I hope this read was useful for some simple minded westerners who don't know shit but think they need to put their opinion out.
And yeah, I'm also queer and my friends are majority queer circles, so I will be executed by russian secret service for 3 different reasons. I wasn't talking about it much, because OP responded quite well from that perspective.
