Hey there, Tumblr, got some bad news for you, you ready?
You might have noticed that our dear podcast hasn't published anything in a long while. Since October if I remember right. The last episode we tried to record was a Christmas in October episode with one of the best episodes of the original series.
But "tried" being the operative word there.
We talked about it and decided that we'd put the podcast on ice for the foreseeable future. There's a bunch of reasons why but it basically boils down to "we weren't getting enough out of it". Not like money, accolades, that kind of stuff. No, we weren't having fun anymore and the stress of making the pod was affecting our mental health.
But the silver lining is that the pod will stay up and we might return to it in the future. And because I'm me, I already have an idea for a new, shiny audio drama podcast. You might start hearing about it at some point on my personal account, @subtle-carrot.
But this is not a goodbye. It's more like we'll be sitting in a corner over yonder and someone will go "hey, ain't those them ones that did that there thing once?".
And yes, we are making this announcement out of sync with our other social media places because we're ✨️Professionals✨️

I know things usually don't work out well for characters on "The Twilight Zone", but I still think it would've been cool to have Rod Serling narrate my life for a little bit.
What a fantastic weekend in Binghamton, NY celebrating SerlingFest 2024! It was great to see so many folks come from all over to honor Rod in his hometown.
I also got to visit the band stand and ride the carousel that inspired the 1959 Twilight Zone episode “Walking Distance”. The weekend closed with the unveiling of a gorgeous statue that sits in Recreation Park.
Since when there has been a Serlingfest and why haven't we heard of it?!
We encounter the greatest horrors in this episode: the future and daughters
Because in episode 24, Eeri tells us about the Twilight Zone season 2 episode 7 "Nick of Time", about a man who just wants to know if he gets that promotion. And we wonder why thinking about the future too much might be bad, actually.
Vieno tells us of season 2 episode 8 "The Lateness of the Hour", where a perfect world is disrupted by an imperfect daughter. From mythical incels to reclusive geniuses, we cover it all to answer what to do with an imperfect daughter.

What is evil? And how would a werewolf boyfriend see the world?
Because in episode 23, Eeri tells us about the Twilight Zone season 2 episode 5 "The Howling Man", about a man seduced by devil's bicep. And we wonder what evil is.
Vieno tells us of more men in season 2 episode 6 "Eye of the Beholder", where a woman has her last chance to conform. We go through some of the wackiest possible takes of this episodes and wonder why. Why, God, WHY?

Jason Todd: I've probably said this before but I love Twilight Zone episodes with no quantifiable moral at the end, they just wrap up like, "Wouldn't it be fucked up if that happened?"
Jason Todd: Everyone saying 'Black Mirror,' NO. The whole point of Black Mirror is that it's rife with unwanted morals! No! I don't want to be told how technology is making us distant and how helicopter parenting makes kids hate you. I want "What if astronauts found their own dead bodies on a random planet and had a breakdown for a full episode, then realized they're dead for real and then forget and do it all over again forever, wouldn't that be fucked? I'm Rod Serling."

Episode 21 “The Man in King 9” is out now!
In episode 21, Vieno starts us off with the Twilight Zone season 2 episode 1 "King 9 Will Not Return", where a man has a bad time at a beach. And we wonder if he was at the beach at all.
Eeri takes on season 2 episode 2 "The Man in the Bottle", where a man and a woman make some wishes. We wonder if poor people should ever wish for anything.

Most Twilight Zone episodes: A harrowing and haunting tale about the potential depths of human depravity, the risks of technology in a bleak and uncertain world, human sanity being push to its limits in the face of the unknowable.
Every other Twilight Zone episode: What if like... uh... weird looking aliens gave a guy super strength and he did a bunch of Looney Tunes type shit. That would be kind of fucked up.
And every time it's anything other than pure drama, Marc Scott Zicree sheds a single tear and hugs his Burgess Meredith body pillow
