Plurality

We are a median/mediple plural! We don’t really know our origin, but are probably stressgenic or neurogenic. We also are very blended all the time, and are all separate while also being the same person. We don’t really have a host, and barely have frequent fronters, so don’t expect the same headmates to show up all the time lol. We don’t have amnesia barriers between us, but we do have a terrible memory in general, so sorry in advance for that! We also have basically no internal communication, and barely have one internal voice, so I’m very sad but we can’t make those plural comics the way others do ;-; might find our own way of making them tho 👀

DNI

I don’t really do DNIs lol, so instead here’s my stances on things:

Radqueers: I’m generally anti, but also I don’t think most people are part of that community out of malicious intent. I don’t have anything against those just looking for harmless belonging, even if we disagree on what “harmless” is. I won’t ever be getting into this discourse though, this is probably the most I’ll ever say on this community. Radqueers can follow and interact, I just won’t ever be posting radqueer-related stuff here

Paraphiles: You guys are ok with me as long as you aren’t causing harm to others :) It doesn’t bother me what’s going on in your head as long as you aren’t hurting anyone for real or promoting harming people! So yeah, as long as you value consent and take a non-harmful approach to things, you’re welcome here! I don’t really want nsfw here though, so I will not be posting about paras here.

Pro-Ship: I personally am not pro-ship but also I’m very anti-censorship and pro-do-what-you-want-without-hurting-people. I think it’s fair to critique the pro-ship community and pro-ship media, but harassment is not acceptable ever.

Endos: Considering I am endo, I think it’s safe to say I’m pro-endo lol. I am anti-harassment of anti-endos though, since I don’t think that that’s ever an okay or reasonable response to online disagreements. I won’t ever get into discourse very much, so dw about that here :)

Anti-Endos: I disagree, but y’all are free to follow and interact, just as long as you’re respectful :)

i tried so hard to come up with a clever or interesting nightwing name for simon but it feels so goofy when his actual name is just. a real name. idk, a two word one with butcher? abysswalker? like something about the navigation aspect? listener goes hard since its the actual meaning of simon, but like i said in the notes, already a canon dragon. butcher is technically valid but i feel like the 1 word names are always positive or at least nonviolent... if anyone has thoughts i want them

also, couldnt fit it in my notes but. huge fan of the irony of simon being the tribe that has star patterns under their wings LMAO… i chose nightwing because of the limited resources and hell world, but thats so perfect

Watched a documentary about abuse and advice one guy said to give children was, "Tell them that if someone is hurting them, to tell someone - and don't just tell one person. Tell as many people as possible, and keep telling as many people as possible until the abuse stops." and i really liked that

Bc so many ppl focus on the idea of telling A Trusted Adult, but even a well-meaning individual can fuck up and let abuse fall through the cracks or not know what to do

Whereas if a child tells LOADS of adults AND other kids, there's far less opportunity for an abuser to do damage control

Consistently telling their story and spreading it around disempowers the abuser to control and coerce the flow of information, or to utilise gaps and weaknesses in systems of reporting or welfare to isolate the child

Just really good advice. Not suprised I don't hear it more often.

Not to bring the serious to a very fun post, but this reaction is exactly what Mamdani is working for with his image, because in a very real way the most effective way for him to be The Mayor is if he looks like The Mayor.

This is a man who is VIOLENTLY aware that when it comes to conservatives, he is a Muslim first, a Brown Man second, an Immigrant third, a Socialist fourth, and a human a very distant fifth, if considered at all. He was also a young adult during the Obama Years and will have seen Republicans rip Obama to shreds for wearing a tan suit instead of a dark one and use literally ANY excuse they could to try and degrade his image.

Despite the fact that a mayor who wears a T-shirt and jeans might "seem more approachable" in the eyes of the average American, Zohran Mamdani knows that someone with his profile fundamentally cannot get away with that the way his White colleagues can. He has instead put in the effort to look professional and BE approachable, because not only does it make it easier for him to reach and represent his constituents, it forces everyone, including both his opponents and establishment Democrats, to engage with the work he is doing instead of judging his image. The fact that he is always seen in a suit and is recognisably The Mayor is, while also something he has fun with, a deliberate choice to ensure he is as inarguably A Professional Politician To Be Taken Seriously. The added humour of e.g. the hi-vis is a bonus, only achievable because he works so hard to Look Like The Mayor.

Eridian speculative biology time!

Erid is a very big planet, very very very big planet, twice the size of earth in fact- and divided by oceans, perfect conditions for populations to remain and develop separately and for long enough to create diferent species. So, unlike us, Eridians are a Polytypic genus: there's more than one species of sapient eridian, All of them sharing a common ancestor in the form of a small, 5 legged ambush-hunter land carnivore, all share common traits taking only slightly different evolutionary paths

Divers- get their name from living in semi-flooded caves, their high small vents allow them to be partially submerged without drowning and their long arms allow them to grip things easily underwater, similar to a sea-horse tail

Climbers- similarly, they get their name from their living enviroment, living in very high caves, their long thin arms allow them to grip and climb very steep rock walls, kinda like goats in a way

Drills and Stompers get their name from the shape of their arms, they both developed closer to the surface compared to the others, their arms are like that for dealing with sandstorms, while Drills "drill" themselfs in place, Stompers use their body weight to keep themselfs down

Blocks are very similar to Stompers, but they live in caves much deeper down, so they're quite compact

Common traits between all species: all Eridians can thrum, all Eridians organize in "colonies" like ants or termites (tho the specifics of how each colony works varies), all Eridians are True Carnivores(can only eat meat) and all Eridians are unisex

In theory any one eridian can procreate with any other eridian, between the 5 species there are 4 fertile hybrids and 3 infertile hybrids posible

note: tho each species has a more broad vague shared culture between themselves, none of them are a monolith, all of them have vastly different culture, language, texture, practices and even phenotypes between different colonies around the world

note 2: the fact humans are a monotypic species (there is only one in our genus) is really fucking weird to them

Everyone knows about special interests where you learn everything about them and they’re fun, but I have an experience I haven’t seen talked about: special interests / years long hyperfixations where your brain latches onto something so hard and with so many emtotions that you avoid the fixation as much as possible most of the time.

For me I got into the The Magnus Archives (tma) fandom and listened to like 3 episodes and my brain latched on completely against my own will. Interacting with the fandom now gives my emotions that are way too overwhelming and so I avoid it. I have thought about / daydreamed about tma daily for the past 6 years now, and overall the whole interest causes me more stress than it’s worth. Like, the daydreams are comforting because I’m in control of the narrative, and it’s a subject I can always fall back on to craft scenarios for. At the same time tho I wish it consumed me less than it did. It sucks because I wish I could interact with tma and its fandom in a normal way, or any way for that matter, because I do like it! It’s just Too Much for me emotionally.

Anyway yeah I haven’t seen this experience be talked about, curious is anyone else has had something similar

pokemon is a series about building Your own team and going on Your own adventure with creatures that You collect and befriend, and is designed from the ground up to be personal and immersive. i have never been able to look like myself in a pokemon game. if i bought pokemon z a today and booted it up and tried to customize myself, i would not be able to look like myself. just fuck me i guess.
