What if Thomas and Isabelle had one last moment together?

It's a widely-accepted headcanon that Thomas watched Isabelle live and have a family in Button House (which explains why he's...like that). He would obviously be by her side as she passed away – I doubt Francis was. And you know how in the pilot when the last Lady Button died? She saw the ghosts for a second.

So, imagine it: Isabelle dies. Her soul leaves her body. She looks around and sees her lost love. "Thomas? You're here." And Thomas, in a moment of gravity, just says, "I always have been."

Then Isabelle smiles – sadly, but she still smiles – and passes on.

And Thomas watches his love leave him behind once again.
