Happy pride month to me, I’m finally coming out as a lesbian because I guess I just didn’t realize most of my fucking life

Okay low key it’s kinda fucking weird to me but I had the realization the other day that I’m gay. Like gay gay. I didn’t realize I was a lesbian and thought everyone just had the overwhelming feeling of “men are gross and unattractive mostly but we just gotta date em anyway haha”

And uh then I was like, wait I knew I was bi though, why don’t I have any fictional crushes that are women??

“why do some fanfic writers write non-con fics when it’s for the sake of smut and is romanticized?”

some victims and survivors use dark fiction to cope and heal from their trauma, because in their fics, they are in control of what happens. they can turn the table and turn what happens into something that’s not traumatizing. and they can do that because they don’t owe you anything.

it’s a kink to some people, even though they were never victims. people can enjoy it and find it hot because at the end of the day it’s just a fantasy. it’s not real. they don’t owe you anything.

it’s cathartic and/or therapeutic to some to see their favorite fictional characters suffer. that’s why whump is such a popular trope; people love putting their fictional little guys through hell. non-con is a part of whump. and these people don’t owe you anything.

fanfic writers can write whatever they want, however they want. they don’t owe you anything.

I also suggest that you look up cnc kink and why so many couples are into it.

this and also the only difference between fanfic writers and writers who sell their own original works as careers is that fanfics aren’t monetized. that’s all.

being a “professional” writer doesn’t mean your works are inherently better than fanfics. I’ve read so many fics that are more professionally written than some published books.

whether or not a piece of writing is monetized has nothing to do with its quality.

“is it wrong for me to write xyz in fiction?” even the most vile, most shockingly disgusting thing you can think of is not wrong to write about as long as it’s fiction. doesn’t matter how you write it. doesn’t matter if you romanticize it.

who do you hurt by indulging in fantasies that are not real? oh right, the imaginary and nonexistent people in your head.

who’s gonna arrest you? the imaginary and nonexistent cops in your head?

who’s gonna stop you? random strangers on the internet who can’t even actually do anything to stop you unless you care about them, their opinions and approval?

*if someone thinks the bad things you write in fiction are okay in real life because they’re portrayed as such in fanfiction, chances are that—with or without the fiction they consume—they’re already troubled and they need help. but their inability to separate fiction from reality is not your problem or business. you’re not a parent or a babysitter of a stranger whose existence you don’t know about.
