Welcome to Sharkie’s Magikarp Sanctuary
Where are you located?
We can be found off of Lilycove; we’re north and a bit east of Camerupt Point.
Staff:
Admin Jainitar (they/them) (ooc: mod and admin are both adults. mod is any pronouns.)
Facilities:
Administrative Center: The only thing in here is filing cabinets and the refridgerator for staff lunches. The serperior with glasses is Murmur, a member of staff. The ludicolo wearing a second hat is not a staff member, please alert us if you see him stealing our food.
Adoption Center Pond: This pond is for residents who are ready to find their next home with you! All residents have a clean bill of physical and psychological health, and are excited to see where life takes them next. Our permanent residents in this pond may not be going anywhere any time soon, but they’re happy to see you visit, so make sure to throw some pokeblocks to Ghost and some lettuce to Katherine Edward when you pass through!
Hospital Pond: This pond is for residents who arrive injured or unwell, and for safety purposes is not open to the public. Very few residents stay here for long periods of time. Moby, our permanent resident in this pond, lives here due to her albinism and other genetic illnesses.
Jumping Pond: Most residents in this pond are adopted by Magikarp Jump Contestants and those who keep the ponds happy and healthy for Jump Contests. Feel free to marvel at Peekablue and his special trick; no matter how high or low you throw a pokeblock into the air, he’ll always catch it! His other special trick, and what makes him a permanent resident, is that he can judge how high a magikarp can jump to within three centimeters, and will perfectly match their jump irregardless of how high or low they go.
Tea House: The pavillion between the Adoption and Visitors centers serves as our tea house! Refreshments are pay what you want, but who could look into Princess’ big eyes and say no to a nice cup of tea from her?
Visitors Center Pond: Like the Adoption Center, this pond is open to the public. Our educational materials can be found in the visitors center, along with a few magikarp who are happy to stay swimming right where they are and don’t care to leave. Many of the permanent residents can be found here depending on the day’s events, but you’ll always see Big Daddy and Sweet Momma swimming over to greet you.
Wildlife Rehabilitation Pond: This is our wildest pond, for residents best suited to the wild. Many of our residents in this pond are utilized for ecological rehabilitation. Sharkie, Buddy, and Sasukoi are the permanent residents in this area.

FAQ
Do you have a care guide?
We sure do! Here it is: The Magikarp Care Guide.
Do you hand out starters?
Magikarp are rarely viable starters for the average beginning trainer. While they’re a loving and wonderful pokemon, most magikarp simply aren’t interested in battling and most people who do battle magikarp are only interested in gyarados. Our goal is magikarp appreciation and finding our residents homes with people who appreciate them for what they are, not simply what they can evolve into. We do offer adoptions for anyone interested in bringing home a new member of the family, so please consult our website for adoption events and to read our PDFs about this wonderful species!
How do I surrender a magikarp?
Please bring in your magikarp and copies of its medical paperwork. Please. We are begging you. Do not just dump a magikarp in the ponds and leave. The forms are so simple, and ditching and running is so cruel.
Do you accept other pokemon?
No. We are a magikarp sanctuary. We are not a feebas, goldeen, carvanaha, wailord, qwilfish, lanturn, wishiwashi, arrokuda, or basculin sanctuary. Just because a fish pokemon was not listed in the above summary does not mean you can dump it in our ponds and leave. We are happy to direct your inquiries to the appropriate species sanctuary, and will help you get in contact with them. Please stop abandoning your pokemon in random areas.
There are some occasions where we will accept barboach or whiscash. These occasions will be posted on our website.
Is fishing permitted in any of the ponds?
No. I swear to arceus, if I see one more person fishing in the ponds I am going to physically break and eat their fishing rod. Don’t do it.
Do you allow art?
Yes! Please tag or submit your art to us so we can share it with the resident you drew. The magikarp love seeing pictures of themselves.
Who is the Champion?
BEEDO! And a very admirable heracross he is too.
How many badges do you have?
All of them! But I was always more interested in contests, so after getting Juan’s by the skin of my teeth I never bothered to go for the Elite Four run. I’m pretty happy with what I’m doing now, frankly- I don’t feel like I missed out. I certainly can’t imagine having to deal with being champion!
