Greetings, and welcome to the blog dedicated to my original story and its characters, named "Welcome To The Mirage"!
Welcome To The Mirage follows the story of Jonas and Iris, two kids who have stumbled into a mysterious world through a wormhole in the sleepy town of Tumbleweed. Along the way, they meet a variety of characters in The Mirage and in their own town, one of those being The Overseer, a powerful being who tasks them with stopping The Xiilunes, two diseases that have ravaged The Mirage for millennia, intent on spreading disease and corruption wherever it goes. Welcome to the Mirage, and remember, Look beyond the Doorbell!
Feel free to ask questions, read up on worldbuilding, comics and writing, or simply take a look around!

Any Content Warnings?
While I try to keep it mostly for all ages, you may expect to see the following, which I will tag appropriately (unless I forget to, in which case please let me know so I can fix it!).
You may end up seeing:
-Very mild blood
-Mild body horror-mostly pertaining to certain monsters or character designs. Examples being undead characters or creatures, though nothing is particularly realistic.
-Depictions of emotional and physical abuse, this is of course character-dependant.
-Themes of loss
-Bug or bug-like designs that could generally fall under "creepy crawly", though again, nothing realistic
With that, welcome again to The Mirage, and remember, Look Beyond The Doorbell!

THE MIRAGE ALMANAC REWRITTEN! - This is a nice, cleaned up version of the old one. It will have everything from characters, to background information, flora, fauna, and more! It's constantly being updated, and I'm currently porting and editing every pre-existing bio.
THE MIRAGE ALMANAC: SPELL EDITION - This one hasn't been touched in a while, but it's a small compilation of spells and food in The Mirage
THE MIRAGE DISCORD - It's what it says on the tin.
MY CARRD - Where you can find my other socials and some of my works.
MY KO-FI - This is where I mostly take commission work, though I will also accept donations.
I've always wanted to port to this website rather than be on Tapas, but only got the time to now. It's getting updates twice a week, two pages a week until it catches up with the Tapas version, which should take...
...About 9 weeks.
BUT! After that period y'all should start seeing new pages again, I had BOTS on hiatus due to school and mental health issues, and did take the time to rewrite the last 1/3 of the story. This 9 week period will hopefully let me build up a backlog again and update twice a month, two pages an update.
Still making art and hopefully I have more stuff on the way, thank y'all!
Threw this together fairly quickly during spring break, school has been absolute hell and I had some personal issues behind the scenes + a long coming burn out but I'm starting to draw a bit again
I can't tell you why what brought me out of burn out was THIS in particular but it happened

Welcome To The Mirage: Birth Of The Starborn is a prequel web comic about a deity of a forested world who adopts his first two children, struggling to come to terms with his newfound fatherhood after coming out of an 800 year dormancy. As it turns out, he hasn't outlived some of the people he knew...yet.
Apparently, my decision to be silly and make fanart of someone's writing (because I genuinely enjoy the story the person is writing and I was struck with inspiration upon reading a particular scene) has benevolent and wildly unforeseen consequences.
I apparently gained a bit of control of the canon because said writer really loved the art and decided what I drew/draw is canon.
2. Writer put said artwork into the document of his story right below the scene, so now it's IN the story where people who read the story will see it (with a link to me)
3. He sent the artwork to all his friends and people he knows because he was so excited
Wholesome interaction and I watched him do all that in real time, good stuff. However...there are two more consequences I was notified of today...nearly a full week after I gave the artwork.
Seeing the artwork caused his friends to become interested in reading and hearing about his story, which means more people are reading what he's writing and giving him critique on the story (which he actively asks for).
Apparently, upon seeing the art, his writer friends got a sudden second wind to pick back up writing they'd abandoned for a few months. Because, I quote, "seeing that someone enjoyed {his} writing enough to take the time to make art of it gave them the motivation that maybe THEY can write something that will inspire someone to also create something." I have accidentally caused a writing frenzy among his writer friends and my silly idea to make art for someone has had a butterfly effect for people who I don't even know.
Uhh...I'm pretty sure there's a moral here but I am tired and have a great deal of emotions about this.
