I’m in the middle of packing and all I can think about is how Sakusa is probably great at it. He would be so organized, getting everything to fit into one, maybe two suitcases without issue. He strikes me as a minimalist, so it’s not like he’d have much to pack anyway.

Atsumu over packs. He’s one of those “I like to have options” and “what if I need to change three times a day” type people. Will forget his phone charger though, maybe his toothbrush too if someone doesn’t remind him.

Meanwhile Hinata has travelled a lot, he knows how to pack but he probably leaves it to the last minute. He manages to get everything packed, just not nearly as organized as Sakusa and his clothes will be wrinkled.

Now Bokuto is just so excited. He can’t contain himself, probably started packing a few days early so his shirts are all wrinkled. The problem is finding room for all the souvenirs he bought to take back for himself, friends and family.

a/n - happy birthday to nanami ! and i cried while writing this because i tried to buy smth but my card was declined. but anyways -- enjoy !

nanami’s daughter wanders muttering ‘pee-pee’, when she finds her dad he immediately picks her up and sprints to the bathroom. he collects himself only for it to have been a false alarm. he groans and she giggles. when they leave the bathroom she looks up at him and says “uh-oh”, nanami gapes and shakes his head, “did you go?”, she nods and pouts as he sighs with a small smile on his face. “it’s okay, we’ll try again, alright?”, when she finally uses the actually toilet the two of them go out for ice cream.

itadori’s son is so crazy, his son runs around the house butt-naked as itadori helplessly chases him. “come on, dude, you’re flashing me!”, your eyes follow your son, and then come back to follow itadori who’s following behind him. you open your mouth to say something but then you close it again to see how the whole thing plays out. 10 minutes later you hear itadori whine about how your son peed all over the bathroom floor.

fushiguro sat next to his daughter on her mini-toilet as she played with his fingers. “daddy, i got to use the potty, don’ look”, megumi looks away as his daughter uses the bathroom. “you’re a big girl now, using the potty on your own”, she giggles as he changes her into a fresh pull-up. “hey, hey, if you have to use the bathroom come to me or mommy, okay?”, she nods vigorously and then goes off to play. he can’t help but to think about how fast his daughter is growing up. pls im boo-hooing-

gojou has his daughter sit on the toilet until she goes, she sulks because she wants to play but he doesn’t let her. “this is indeed not potty training”, you try to explain that to him but he gasps dramatically, “my grandpa did this with me and i’m potty trained”, you sigh muttering ‘whatever’ as your daughter sits on the toilet whining about how she wants to play. “you can play when you use the potty”, she grumbles and when she finally uses the bathroom she gets up and runs to her play area. but no more than 2 hours later does she use the bathroom in her pull-up.

inumaki’s son tugs on his shirt and murmurs something about the potty, inumaki takes him to the bathroom and helps him get up on the stool so he can actually reach the toilet. okay this is gonna sound weird but inumaki’s son only ever used the bathroom when he was singing, so he was singing ‘twinkle twinkle little star’ while peeing. when he finished inumaki gave him a high-five and then smiled, “bonito flakes”, (translation : good job).

I lived and worked in a lighthouse at a previous job. There was a thick line painted in a circle around the shack where the fog signal was kept. The line represented how close you could get to the fog signal without experiencing physical harm in the form of eardrums shattering or worse.

Even in the house it was LOUD. Probably the loudest thing I have ever experienced but at a normal, predictable interval. You would begin to time your sentences with little pauses with the rest of the lighthouse crew so you would talk like this while making your………..HORN…………. tea and then carry on talking because you knew when it would go off. It rattled the walls and the dishes in our cabinet.

At least one girl had died there. They kept photos of her everywhere “in honor of her sacrifice” because she had decided to take the winter watch alone and died in a storm where bounders the size of mini vans had been lifted out of the ocean and left scattered across the island, to say nothing of the ice chunks. People weren’t allowed to be alone on the watch after that.

One day a dead moose washed up on shore and it took my entire crew all day but we managed to rig up a line to hang it up to dry because we thought having a moose skeleton in the house would really spice the living room up a bit. It did. Weird shit happens when six of you are left alone, like ALONE ALONE, no cell reception, no wifi, just a radio to contact the real world and not a lot of reason to do that. People don’t go on lighthouse jobs if they want to stay connected, I’ve found.

That said Id do it all again, I really do treasure those days

I was a camp counselor at a science/nature camp when I was 16, for a bunch of 10 and 11 yr old girls. And one day while we were waiting around for the naturalist to come get us to go on the day’s hike, the boys cabin we were grouped with was exploring the area and overturned a log and found a salamander. One of the boys picked it up and they brought it over.

My girls all went “ewww, gross, keep it away!”

…right up until I said “whoa, cool, can I see it?”

This boy handed me the salamander and all of a sudden my girls were clustering around. They wanted to hold it. They were asking questions about it. They had stories of other times they’d seen a lizard or caught a frog or something. A couple of them went with some of the boys to look under another log and see if they could find another one.

All they had needed was permission to be curious, to show interest instead of disgust. And as soon as someone they were looking to for cues on “how to be a girl” showed interest, as soon as they didn’t feel like they had to perform socially-acceptable girliness and pretend to be grossed out in order to gain adult approval, all that natural curiosity and the fascination most kids have for the natural world just came bubbling right up.
