I'm not making a funny meme post, cops are evil and exist to oppress and terrorize minorities but specifically black people. the good cops who exist either quit or get fired. cops are inherently evil.

the idea of a cop and their history is inherently evil and if you want to die on a hill of arguing with a black queer person whose family faced police brutality and racial profiling go ahead but I don't give a shit about your opinion.

When my friends have been assaulted, the cops just wrote a report (and were awful to those friends the whole time!) and it was the detectives and courts who actually did anything about it. "What about-" OP is right. Sit down and listen.

Do some research and unlearn your biases and help the people who are affected. It takes time and effort but for the love of all things good, learn it. I know I'm not perfect but I still gotta fucking listen to the groups who are being affected (especially POC) and take the initiative to learn how to be helpful.

(Seriously, though, it's a pretty broad genre. I have to confess a certain bias toward dungeon crawlers, so my reading list is mostly going to consist of stuff like Songbirds, Doll.Bod, @cavegirlpoems' Dungeon Bitches, etc. – just to cite a few I've perused recently – though I'm also a sucker for a good genre emulation piece, like @open-sketchbook's Double or Nothing or @sarahcarapace's forthcoming Violet Core.)

There are so many cool sapphic leaning rpg writers and games out there!

It’s so significant too that this narrative was collected by Zora Neale Hurston, one of the greatest authors and anthropologists of her time. She was shunned by the “gatekeepers” of both of these professions, largely because of her Blackness, her womanhood, and her uncompromising commitment to honoring and showcasing both in her works. She died penniless and alone in a state-run institution in 1960. All of her works had gone out of publication by then. It took more than a decade before she was rediscovered. A young author by the name of Alice Walker had come across her work and was deeply inspired by it. “In 1973, after an exhaustive search, Walker came across Hurston’s unmarked grave in Ft. Pierce, Fla. She purchased a headstone for Hurston’s tomb and had it inscribed “A Genius of the South.“”

It is through Zora Neale Hurston’s pioneering sacrifice, and the acceptance of that inheritance by Alice Walker that we have found this missing piece of our history. Without the courageous and unfailing work of Black women, we wouldn’t have Cudjo Lewis’s story. We are slowly regaining a narrative that’s been hidden from us, one that continues to be lied about. Trust Black women to lead the way.

people who's memories are getting worse every day, who's memories are stable but poor, people who can't remember what they did today or yesterday or this week, people who's childhoods are a faded blur. people who have slow greying-out amnesia that seems to just fade in and out of existence, and people who have complete blackouts, and people who have both. people who mourn the happy memories they know they've lost, who fear the bad memories they've lost that still affect them.

people who have "emotional amnesia" that makes it feel like none of their memories are their own, because there's few or no feelings attached. people who can ONLY remember the feelings from certain or even most memories, not actual events. people who's memory issues scare them or make them angry or make them miserable. people who's memory issues get them called childish or difficult or rude. who can't remember the names or faces of those they love. who are constantly forgetting the things that "you'd remember if you really cared". who misplace everything. who remember so little of their lives that they barely know who they are. people who's memory issues come from trauma/dissociation, ADHD, traumatic brain injury, brain fog/chronic fatigue, drug use, alcoholism. people who have no idea what causes their memory issues. people who's memory issues come from something else entirely.

i love you, you're strong, and you deserve support and care for what you're going through. memory issues can be frustrating and upsetting and disabling, and your suffering deserves to be recognized. whether you're soaring through recovery or are only ever going to get worse, you deserve good things in life and to live the fullest you can, regardless of how much you remember.
