It’s a stupid fantasy, a daydream that Jason visits when he snatches a few peaceful moments for himself. The thought has infected him ever since Bruce took him to see <i>Pride and Prejudice</i> in the theaters, and Jason found himself even more completely head over heels in love with the concept of Mr. Darcy. His cold, aloof persona masking a deep well of emotions, so stiflingly expressed through awkward, uncontrollable confessions… Jason realized they reminded him of someone.

Looking over at Bruce silently steering them home, a small smile at his lips at his success of delighting Jason, the thirteen year old marks the moment attraction to his father figure blossoms in his chest and strangles his racing heart.

And when Jason says good night and I love you to Bruce on the staircase, with more meaning and emotion than he meant to slip into his words, and Bruce holds his gaze for a moment too long with the faintest, but still detectable, pink flush to his ears, Jason is consumed by the thought that Bruce might love him too - more than a father ought to.
