A way my therapist has told me to approach childhood trauma is thinking about the child who went through the traumatising ordeal. You may resent yourself for not fighting back, not doing enough, or not running away, but you need to see the young child who was there, the one who needed protection, not persecution
Disabled people have their own culture
Deaf people have their own culture
Blind people have their own culture
Autistic/ADHD/Neurodivergent people have their own culture
Mobility aid users have their own culture
For example:
- in deaf/sign language culture, its okay and normal to point (its often a sign itself)
- in nd culture, eye contact isn't necessary, and its very common to talk about personal things like trauma or political views (unless the person doesnt want to) and there are certain stims that often show recognizable emotions (flappy hands often mean happy)

I see a lot of systems comparing different alters’ handwriting/art style/etc. and a lot of it is noticeably different
But I want to give a shoutout to systems whose handwriting and art styles are very much the same
This is a covert disorder and a lot of the time and differences in these things aren’t going to be noticeable (especially if you’re still in an unsafe situation)
You’re not faking it just cause you all write or draw the same way
It’s wild that my mom doesn’t question my sudden changes in behaviour when another alter comes out. Like, Neko only speaks in cat noises when she’s happy, and my mom is just cool with it 😹 -Jordan💜
when something interrupts my schedule so now i can’t do anything
What is a man to a king?
What is a king to a god?
What is a god to a horrible goose?

I think a lot about gaining weight as a form of healing
Character: gets a lil bit fat after a life of hardships
Me: groundbreaking incredible life changing
Character: *gets fatter as a visual indicator that they have let their life collapse / they have let their skills erode and are less powerful than they were before / they have become lazy and complacent*
Me: no! bad!
Character: *gets fatter as a visual indicator that they are allowing themself to enjoy things / they are no longer experiencing previous hardships and dangers / they are generally happier*
Me: YEAH!!!!!
i know people are calling picrews cringe and all but i can not hate the simple joy of making and dressing up a little cartoon person and then looking at it and going “it’s me! :D”

the overwhelming grief of losing an entire year to sickness, violence and pandemic fatigue is settling in so id like to remind everyone that: you are not a failure, yes there is still a happy future for you, and wearing a mask is very sexy
Nice 👌🏼 -Jordan💜
i hope you heal from the things no one ever apologized for
My NT friend: doesn’t this silence bother u
Me, autistic: are u telling me u can’t hear this incredibly loud fridge
The lights have sound
Electronics have sound
Appliances have sound
If electricity runs through it, it has sound.
Rarely is there actual silence (and that does bother me due to lack of sensory input).
This is why the barn uses me when they think the horses are reacting to a noise they can’t hear. I’ll likely find it (it’s usually the heating or the electrical box in the indoor).
I also know when the electric fences are on.
For years I was convinced that I was either hallucinating or had hearing damage, because electronics always made this high-pitched whine that was closer to being felt than heard, and nobody else knew what I was talking about. Then I met other autistic people.
Wait a minute.
…Are…are you telling me other people can’t hear the fridge motor?
The constant high pitched whine of electric appliances?
That the world doesn’t sound like radio frequencies?
It already took me 21 years to realise that I don’t perceive light the way normal people do (thanks to astigmatism) and now this?
What else?
