the pitt x hadestown but orpheus and eurydice are platonic whitsantos:
they spent many nights in one another’s orbit, but trinity was skittish. she rejected all kinds of companionship and affection
one night after dennis played, some guy twice his size started picking a fight. trinity watched from the bar until she realized that dennis didn’t stand a chance. so she got up and broke the guys nose. dennis followed her around like a lost puppy after that until she was worn down eventually let him in.
dennis made trinity believe that there could be good in the world, he was the first person she’d trusted since childhood. trinity who grounded him back on earth, who defended him in fights, who wouldn’t back down against the world.
they were one another’s best friend and partner in crime and family for years, but dennis one day got too wrapped up in himself. the wind was cold, there wasn’t any food, there was no end in sight. trinity felt like she had no other option, so she sold herself to hades. she’d done similar things many times before.
dennis emerged from his haze only to discover that his best friend was gone and it was all his fault.
she always protected him, so it now it was his turn to chase her down and bring her home
oh eurydice. scrappy, tough, starving eurydice. the way she traded her personal autonomy and any remaining sense of control in her life for something so fundamental as shelter and food. the way she took hades’ contract because she had no other route, no way out, she’s seen the way the world is. have you ever been so hungry you’re not thinking straight? so hungry you’d sell your life away to fill your stomach? so hungry theres no other option but give your body and soul to a man who you do not trust? she knew she making a deal with the devil and took it anyway because survival comes before thought here. she’s a brilliant metaphor for the working girls, the factory scrubbers and the prostitutes living paycheck to paycheck, who gave themselves and who they are to capitalism in order to stay alive despite the wageslave trap they’ll never be able to maneuver out of. shes every girl whos followed someone she shouldn’t into the dark, because she was already gone anyway. she is the working class who gave themselves up to a corrupt system because there was no light at the end of the tunnel, not for them anyway, and food is more important than that light anyway.
someone should write a fic where garcia and santos are married but no one has ever met garcias wife. they only know her from snippets garcia mentions when she comes down to the pitt. like “my wife can stitch that better than u”
santos starts her intern year and no one knows that they are together until one shift santos’s brother comes to the pitt injured and is high on drugs.
he is getting treated and garcia walks in. and santos’s brother is like “yo it’s my sister-in-law “ and garcia is concerned and stuff. santos’s brother is like saying random shit about garcia and santos, and then santos walks in and then everyone comes to a realization that they are together
