"Even anxious pups need the moon, I howl for you, I sing to you, I circle you"
And it's Zoe who had lost her family, her home, even her divinity, beign found by Artemis, her moon.
It's Zoe learning everything she knows from Artemis, finding comfort in her new family.
It's Zoe refusing to become her father, giving her life for her Lady.
It's Zoe becoming the stars forever next to the moon
Itâs all fun and games laughing about Haymitch over sharing and Katniss under sharing in comparison until you realize Haymitch is trying to remember all the fine details of everyone he will never see again and Katniss is trying to protect her remaining autonomy by keeping those details private
The difference in their trauma responses being shown from the very start of their narratives guts me
the "I'm not a drinker myself" to gradually becoming an alcoholic to numb out the pain pipeline
the "I don't want them to change me. turn me into something I'm not" to being turned into a mutt version of himself pipeline
the "I do everything in my power to protect my sister" to losing her anyway pipeline

keep thinking about how I wrote in my dissertation about how every time a new form of public/social space emerges it's immediately popular with kids and teenagers who see it as a chance at freedom and then adults colonise it and kick them out. this happened with malls in the 80s and diners in the 50s and pool halls in the 20s. my dad was doing research on this trend in like 1975. and I was like "yeah so this is going to happen to the internet" and then five years later every government suddenly decided to ban kids from everywhere online. I hate being right especially when I don't even get paid for it
Xander : can someone let me in please?
