Unfun fact: Intrusive thoughts are not fun, at all. They cause distress, contradict what you actually want, can make you avoid things related to them and you just wish they'd never enter your head.

That scene in Jax's mind was not an "intrusive thought", she already abuses everyone around her in a variety of awful ways and would definitely commit those actions if the opportunity arose. I genuinely feel like calling it that is comparable to that Music movie's portrayal of Autism, in how damaging it actually is to see it that way. It's ableism that demonizes those with intrusive thoughts, like me.

It makes me want to make an animated series featuring what intrusive thoughts actually look like, and it wouldn't be palatable for TADC defenders, I'm certain. It'd be the most crudely-drawn and animated thing ever, though.....(I'm not a very good visual artist)

Vultures get called "scary", get harmed in real life and are always made villains, but, like, look at them.

Like, they're so cute! Plus, this is also a vulture, yet it looks so lovable!

I'm quite fond of most animals, and I just find so many of even the "bad" ones to be adorable.

As another note, even if I find wasps scary, I would never want to hurt them. I don't even hate wasps, in spite of the reaction they seem to give my mind. Something to work on, probably.

In general, when I consider myself an animal lover, I extend it to far more than just the "good" animals like dogs.

I genuinely enjoy how the content warnings are specialized for each page, and even beyond that there's two tiers of them. It has helped me get over my fear of them and how I would expect the absolute worst was behind them, even if it ended up rather tame. Having grown on a site that has the exact same warning (same wording and all) used for Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Hostel II(!), it's downright cathartic to see TCRF add that nuance.

Is it weird that as someone with moral OCD, I've genuinely been mentally recording each fandom DNI I've ever seen? Mainly since, I don't blame anyone with them, but it can get under my skin in some cases (for example, if I have a friend who is part of that fandom, does it blacklist me from interactions even if I've never been involved with said fandom at any point?). Also, even some of the more....."unique", DNIs, shall I say, can get under my skin at points. I recall someone (not on Tumblr, mind you) putting Yume Nikki fans as one (albeit removing it later), when I've never seen it on anyone else's and I've played that game myself and enjoyed its dream atmosphere. It can get to me in that respect, despite probably being petty in that person's case.

And even in cases that don't involve DNIs, I can still feel guilty just for liking something based on the statements of others. And I'm referring to "innocuous" fandoms like Pokemon and the aforementioned Yume Nikki, mind you, I'm not referring to anything like South Park or Attack on Titan.

The only exception to this is when even others are making fun of it, like that one "DNI My Chemical Romance fans" bio that got posted, I'm basically immune to that one due to how much others mocked it.

I'm not shaming anyone else here. At this point, I just wonder if I can share the "DNI master list" I've recorded, as I will call it.

Randomly remembered when Joshscorcher ranked "the entire OFF soundtrack" as the 7th most disturbing song in a non-horror game. Now, this is not about whether OFF should be classified a horror game or not (I am the last person to properly judge (Pablo) these things), but rather the insinuation of the entire OST being disturbing, especially more so than that horrifying Skullgirls track (no joke, I've played Super Paper Mario, gotten to that one part and I still find the aforementioned song far worse). Now, some songs in the game I do find scary, like Silencio, Not Safe, Tender Sugar or Endless Hallway Fight, but...

Then again, maybe I'm just biased. A lot of tracks that others would find creepy like this or specific Yume Nikki pieces are comforting to me instead, much like how I love lizards and sharks, even though other people I've seen find them "creepy" and "disgusting".

My favorite kind of video game is the one where it isn't even that lengthy, yet completing it just gives off this saddening feeling.

Realized it after recently completing OFF for the first time, and how similar of a feeling it was to Portal 2.

The sight of The Judge just walking through a void to the sound of "Over the Rainbow" would be emotional even if not for what happened before it, and how he's basically just alone now. It's weird that the song used to be one of those "association with something will make you disturbed if you hear it" songs for me because of one disturbing PSA, and yet now that has been dethroned somehow (even if it helps that said PSA only had "Over the Rainbow" in one rare variant) and now it's sad to me. It's odd to me that people have hoped for a sequel enough for the "README" file to discuss it when there isn't really a world to continue the story in anymore.

When I thought about all this, it ended up reminding me of Portal 2, a much less gloomy game and ending, true, but one with an oddly similar vibe. The song "Want You Gone" is emotional enough to me that one SiIvaGunner edit of the song that was a "Phineas and Ferb Green Day" gag still didn't defuse it, and the aftermath of Wheatley just floating in space is saddening, even if he tried to kill me. The final title screen afterwards and its theme "Space Phase" is striking...

Kind of baffling that the ESRB's "M" rating can range from "someone says a particular no-no word a few times" to "the most gruesome and upsetting thing you've ever seen in a video game"

Like, how does Furi have the same rating as Outlast 2?

Remembered how my dad called Beast Wars' CGI "horrifying".....somehow, the visuals never bothered me at all, not even when I was 14. Worth noting that for him, no matter how old CGI is, it's never a defense; he's old enough to remember when the movie "Lawnmower Man" was new and yet he calls the CGI there awful as well, but, like....it's a horror movie? Wouldn't the CGI being creepy be the whole idea?

For some reason, I genuinely like Beast Wars' visuals even by today's standards, despite it looking outdated. It still feels immersive with the actual designs, which make the animals as realistic as they could be, and the lack of any actual humans helps it to avoid the "uncanny valley" effect that was common of the era. The style also makes me think of the state of mind of the characters, who are stuck in an unfamiliar world that lacks the things from their original home.

Over 3 years ago, I did this Nuzlocke run of Black where I intentionally made the rules hard and I couldn't save, all because I was so bugged by how my in-game playtime somehow became longer than my 3DS' activity log for the game (and I had not played it on a regular DS prior, just to note). Somehow, I grew attached to it despite this setup, and the tone I originally established with it being comedic except in an awful version of Unova to live in (no South Park-style offensive humor, don't worry if that's on your DNI) shifting into a more serious one as things moved along. The run ended in a failure, with my entire team being killed by Bianca's Serperior, and it was genuinely sad, something it wouldn't have been if it carried the jokey way it started to the end.

I have a feeling that a comic adaptation of this would be similar to this comment on an upload of No Children by the Mountain Goats

In my dream last night, I was trying to find an image of Neil Cicierega for a TV Tropes article, and for whatever reason, it was basically impossible. I searched far and wide, and no images of him existed, with me instead getting various movie screenshots such as one of some creature that looked like the thing that got teleported to death in Galaxy Quest or a Houndeye/"Peeper-Puppy" from Half-Life but with a mouth. Even the Mouth albums had redesigned covers that showed things like a photo of a cave, all in the name of not showing the man behind Lemon Demon.

I don't know why my dream decided to make him have no photos anywhere in the world.

Had a dream where someone had "DNI Pokemon fans" on their bio.....while also having a Ninetales sona (a blue one that distinctly wasn't Alolan, from what I remember). Uh.......I really hope no one actually did something like this, but after @miniconsuffrage revealed to me that MPAA-esque "DNI if you enjoy NSFW things besides gore" one, I can believe absolutely anything (as a note, while I am uncomfortable with NSFW myself, that particular one is still absurd to me for the same reasons that the MPAA is, but that board is a story for another time)

Another thing this makes me think is that most fandom DNIs I've seen have specific reasoning behind them, like the creator's views, offensive content in the work itself or a combination thereof. Pokemon doesn't fall under these to my knowledge.

They Might Be Giants and Lemon Demon are part of a niche genre. I don't know what its name should be, but I'm sure you get exactly what I mean. Both have very similar vibes.

Not to mention:

Maybe Barenaked Ladies can be added to this genre, I don't know yet. But it does have the connection due to Neil Cicierega turning the "IT'S BEEN" from One Week into a meme.

Before I heard the Planet Sheen theme song, I had a very different view of it from Schaffrillas' description.

I interpreted the "random words in a random order" comment as basically being Word Disassociation by Lemon Demon, which is a song I do like, oddly enough. I also imagined Sheen's commentary as being far more whiny than it really was.

This is a good example of why you shouldn't blindly follow a YouTuber's opinion.

Had a dream where I started my own Pokemon ask blog, it centered around bird Pokemon and the like living in a forest, with a Murkrow being the main character.

This actually could be fun if I could draw for crap, but alas, I have difficulty with even designs from this children's game series.

This really doesn't help how immature I feel most of the time...

EDIT: I am aware that it's usually for the sake of dealing with bad interactions with minors. However, up until literally last year, I would generally look at content warnings and assume the absolute worst was behind them (for example, a vaguely-worded warning for graphic violence would generally make me imagine something Blood Meridian or Terrifier 2-level if not worse, even if it's nowhere near that bad), so it takes a while for me to get over this sort of thing.
