A diverse team
Although the three of pentacles is generally considered to mean a team working harmoniously, I think given the imagery, there could be more to this card. The three figures collaborating together stand out from each other with their attire, symbolising a team project where perhaps you must collaborate with people very different from yourself.
A rocky path to success
Sometimes the most effective team is built through diversity, as people from other social groups or cultural backgrounds have unique approaches to challenges. The final product may be incredibly innovative, but the process of construction and deliberation may involve conflict or misunderstanding.
Challenging your idea of a “dream team”
The black background of the card and the cathedral setting bring a heaviness to card, it’s possible your colleagues do not fit your idea of a “dream team”. Nevertheless, trying to understand who they are as a person will no doubt create a more effective team.
Reversed Meaning
Amplification of the negative aspects of teamwork
Oh no, slacker alert! In the upright, we get the sense everybody is pulling their weight and the final product will come together. The reversed, however, can mean work is not distributed evenly or some team mates do not posses the skills to effectively complete the project.
While some might consider a hellish University project a right of passage, you may still have the power to change your situation, especially if it’s a workplace. You have to decide whether you want to leave or stick out this group activity for the sake of advancing your career.
