Because horses are amazing too, esp when you get to dress them up.

I have a soft spot for knights in gold armour!
Lourdes (Marcello Renoir)
Absolutely beautiful, I love that brigandine!
I’ve upped my Armoured Just Dance work out to include my cuisses now! I think I’m going to have to figure out how to shoot some video of my work outs now. It’d be cool to make a montage if I’m ever able to work up to dance in all my armour.
If anyone reading this knows how to shoot good video as cheaply as possible, please contact me with info!
Update: I don't do this anymore. My cuisses are too big on me to be agile enough to dance. One day I'll be back at this. But not before I buy new leg armour that fits better.
Meet Sketchbook 30! As I write this she was just recently retired to my shelf, but she was one of my favourites to date! Once more, another sketchbook featuring Tristan in her fancy armour with an inspiring quote. Once again, I used gold, silver and blue gilding to get her to Shine!
Another original. Pose practice that turned into a knight, because of course it did. This was still Otakon crunch.
I love this one a lot too.
This is absolutely gorgeous! I’m envious of that glowing linework!
So I’ve started playing Just Dance with Sabatons and Greaves on for added difficulty, and it’s actually been a fun challenge! I wish I had more pictures to share, but I lack a camera, tripod and friend to take pictures or video… I’m hoping to find some solutions to that soon.
I never considered myself a fitness person until I got armour, and realized I needed to seriously bulk up if I had any hopes of wearing it properly.
Maybe in time I’ll get good enough and have the equipment to upload Youtube videos of me dancing in full armour!
Update: The Dance thing didn't work out so well because my kit's just a bit awkward on me. I took up body building and I'm a lot stronger and I wear the suit better now! One day I'll return to trying to dance when I get a few better fitting pieces.
They were forged by Desiderius Helmschmid and etched by Ulrich Holzmann for the future King Philip II of Spain in 1546.

Absolutely beautiful!
I don’t often post pictures of me, but when I do, I’m usually in armour!
Yep, I don’t just love drawing characters in armour – I love armour itself. And it’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally acquired a suit of (2nd hand) gear!
Adjustments need to be made, and I need to up my work outs before I’m running and dancing in this kit, but I’d love to post more of me in my kit, perhaps start a whole new tumblr for it.
Anyone interested in seeing something like that?
Meet my 29th Sketchbook (SK29). This was the 3rd sketchbook to feature Tristan on the cover, but the 1st one to add silver AND blue leaf! I had a lot of fun using all leafing for Tristan’s armour – it makes it feel a bit more ‘real’.

Composite Three-Quarter Armour for Emperor Ferdinand I from Austria dated between 1535-1550 on display at the Burrell Collection in Glasgow
This armour was made in 1535 by Michael Witz of Innsbruck for the Hapsburg King, and later Emperor, Ferdinand I. The double-headed eagle, the device of the Holy Roman Empire, is etched on the breastplate.
