"For me my niqaab is a sign of my submission to Allah and a way to increase my Sabr (patience). It is my jihad, something that I want to strive for out of my love for Allah. (That sweet struggle under the heat of Dubai gives me a sense of tawakkul and reminds me that Hell is hotter.)
During my Hajj in 2012, I was inspired by a sister from my own hometown who used to cover her face. Usually in our place wearing an abaya or loose clothing was not appreciated, rather it was seen as a sign of backwardness. It was a challenge for me.
Since I am staying now in the middle east it was easier for me to start covering myself and Alhamdulillah after my Hajj, around 2014 I started wearing the niqab, but it was on and off until I have gradually develop the need to start wearing it constantly and to perfect it.
My niqaab helps me feel more relaxed whenever I go out and not worry about the stares of people. It is a sign of strength of character that does not make a woman deficient in her practical life. She still is same woman she was before but it is just the perfection in her belief that she choose (by wearing the niqaab) out of submission to her Lord.
Indeed, with this, I can truly say that the most beautiful thing that (wearing the) niqaab has contributed in my life is having freedom and patience, Alhamdulillah."
