Can more southern gothic/horror stuff focus on how fucking scary rich southern white people are?

Like, so much of what I see is in southeast-set horror is “ooh poor southerners are spooooky, backwoods places are all incest-y and murder-y” and it’s like…calm down. We get that Deliverance freaked you out. All I’m saying is, take a look at rich white southerners and see the horror there, especially the old money ones. Take a look at a fraternity/sorority group photo and tell me that you don’t feel an involuntary shudder. Look online at the fucking vineyard vines store and tell me you don’t feel dread creeping in. If you got the time/money, spend some time on King’s Street in Charleston to be truly afraid. On a more serious note, look at how many white southerners got/remained rich by exploiting POC, especially African-Americans, even long after slavery was abolished. Look at pics of a “plantation wedding” where people have a celebration of love and commitment at beautiful locations that were the sites of so much pain and suffering. Shit’s creepy!
