update on me forcing my mum to watch 9-1-1

we’ve just finished the tsunami episodes in S3 and i don’t know how i missed this the first time but chris literally has the funniest comment when he and buck are on top of the fire truck in the water:

buck: you never complain…how do you do it?

chris: well i complained once, but it didn’t work🤷

i am turning to my fellow buddie fans to ask for help in finding a fic/fics with a specific storyline. i saw someone mention this type of fic in a tiktok comment but have not been able to find it on my own so PLEASE;

if any of you know any buddie fics that in some ways incorporate tommy getting angry about the fact that whenever buck ends up in the hospital he has to go through the process of getting a visitors pass but eddie never needs one? (i get that’s also probably due to the fact that he’s a firefighter himself BUT i would love to think it’s just because they’ve been in the hospital so many times everyone just assumes they’re married)

it could also be any of eddies previous partners, but i prefer it to be tommy cus i like to see him suffer:)

i gotta be honest, being on tumblr now that the new season has started is SO HARD. because i am not from the US which means i have to wait until the episodes drop on disney + to watch them and i am out here dodging spoilers as if i’m stuck in the matrix.

Taylor Kelly wasn't a bad person. She was just selfishly driven in her desire to further her achievements.

And if we're being honest, Buck was just as selfish in that relationship because he didn't feel the same way about her as she did him.

The part they fucked up was getting together directly after the sniper arc. Buck wasnt in the right state of mind to pursue a relationship with Taylor and Taylor was too emotional about Buck possibly dying and didnt want to miss out on knowing if it would work.

Taylor was too emotionally invested in Buck who was too emotionally unavailable.

They should have remained friends.

But neither of them were in the wrong. They were just wrong person, wrong time....

....of course, thats just my opinion. I think she'd have made a great friend for Buck to soundboard off of, that wasn't part of his Fire Fam.

I liked Taylor, I hated their romantic relationship. And not because of Buddie, but because I feel it was a disservice to both their characters.

They each deserved to have someone in their corner and they could have had that with each other without making it romantic. Because contrary to popular belief, men and women can be just friends.

in the 8x17 fight, eddie wanted buck to let him in and treat him like a partner, but eddie was not treating buck like a partner when he was keeping secrets from buck too. once eddie realized he was being a dick, he works to fix this.

he flies in his son, his beating heart, and calls his aunt, his maternal figure. he surprises buck with two of the people EDDIE loves most and is like :) you are not alone, lean on us please. and buck does! he is so happy. he finally talks to someone, and he gets to watch eddie and chris on his couch where they belong.

it is arguably as much of a love confession as the will to me. eddie says here, share my son and my family with me because they are yours too. you are mine, i am yours, and we are a family. do you see? you helped me get chris back, and i brought him home to you. the most precious thing i have to offer. do you see how much you mean to me? do you see how much i love you?

I love fangirling over celebrities and getting overly invested in ships that will never be canon. I cry over sad endings and laugh at memes no one else understands. I love getting way too excited over small things, daydreaming about impossible scenarios, and staying up late to finish just one more chapter. I love getting lost in fictional worlds, losing sleep over them, and rewatching my favorite shows a million times. I love spending hours scrolling through fan art and feeling alive through the stories, music, and love for people I will never meet. I love being like other girls.

idk if this is an unpopular opinion, but i wish buck was still considering his transfer out of 118 or actually did end up working in another station briefly in s9

some time away from the usual crowd would be a chance to put himself first even if it's in some dramatic way, like a wake up call to start thinking about himself - he has had to deal with a multitude of changes and always has to put himself back together on his own

eddie coming back was something buck didn't expect and now he has to go apartment hunting all over again...so now is a good time for buck to learn to be alone and not be so reliant on the people around him but actually be okay with himself

as much as i would absolutely eat up the whole buddie roommates era.....buck moving out could give something for eddie to think about - or at least experience what it means to live with no buck in his life or at least close but lacking the usual level of buckandeddie
