Thought about it more and think it should probably also be noteworthy that "it's just an opinion" is literally one of the #1 bigs Fascists & Bigots rely on to help preach their violence. That people will see what they're saying as "just an opinion" and either ignore it or even defend it. It's so common among them that it can basically be used as a dogwhistle (though I have no right to say whether it is a dog whistle or not, I'm just mostly using it as a comparison).
