checking in for the first time in months with a new chubby! headcanon
chubby!alec lightwood
growing up in the closet, alec was always controlling his actions. always watching what he did and how he did it, which included eating. he didn’t eat for enjoyment or do anything for enjoyment. there was a correct number of calories he was allotted a day based on activity level, which meant some days he went hungry. also headcanon him as super anxious of fucking up and having his parents question him about anything, so he tries to make himself perfect to them. perfect, straight, fit, top shadowhunting son.
things change after magnus. alec feels a weight lifted off his chest. there’s no more worrying, no more caring about what his parents think. he’s out and everyone knows. magnus slowly tears down alec’s walls and they discover more about each other. alec finally allows himself to enjoy life and let up on being so controlling. enjoying life includes waking up with him in magnus’ arms, enjoying going out to eat with magnus at all these fancy restaurants and enjoying food. (also i can alec being so restricted to the point that the first time him and magnus go to some fancy burger joint he moans after taking the first bite.)
he opts for staying in bed with magnus more mornings than not and then enjoying extravagant meals after. as he ascends through the institute he finds himself going out less on missions and more time at meetings and what not.
alec gains weight slowly over time. it starts with a softeness around his hips. a softness magnus thinks looks wonderful in his leather pants. a slow gain that alec doesn’t notice the slight tightness in his clothes. those same leather pants struggling in thickening thighs.
magnus is aware of how much his alexander used to hate himself, the level of self loathing he has had. magnus magics alec clothes just a little larger on certain occasions, and buys alec bigger clothes for him.
alec learning to adjust to the new weight while fighting. finding his new center of gravity.
alec coming to terms with the added weight and loving it, because it fits who he is now. not some rigid guy. but a true softy at heart
