IRC, the old school way
Another day, another IRC network.
Except this one is new; it's run on a Raspberry Pi, and is pretty much bare IRC (it has NickServ with no nick ownership, just to avoid chaos, but you still can't use it to regain nicks, and a modded ChanFix for those dire moments).
It still uses the ø domain, because I can't be bothered to buy a new one. Have fun learning to IRC without the luxury of ChanServ being omnipresent to op you. These old guides may help.
nothingirc.eu, port 6667 or +6697 for you SSL crazies. (selfsigned)
The Changelog: Episode 1
The Changelog is a recurring series where I talk about changes made to my projects.
This week, I mainly worked on ^w.
List of changes
Accounts are now NickServ based, using account-notify and WHOX (56ccfc)
Many bugs were fixed, thanks to nyuszika7h, bcode and sfan5 really wanting to exploit things (a "lol oops" moment, regressions, OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD NYU, and forgetting to strip newlines)
We now have a Code Climate page (that moment when you realize your code isn't as pristine as you think!)
^w and me got #botters cloaks!
Announcing The Netsplit
If you frequent this blog, the thing you most see here is IRC quotes. Little funny snippets from IRC that probably don't make sense to this blog's intended audience.
So, I am annoucing The Netsplit, a separate blog to put such quotes, so that this blog (which was intended to be a blog about programming) is not turned into a giant quote database.

That Raspberry Pi still hasn't shut down! :D

How to tell when your cat is crazy (reblog).
The WJTHWT, coming to GitHubs near you.
Apart from the wonderful ^w project, there are some other things I do. The WJTHWT is one of them.
<whiskers75> Fusl: Lemme fire up the whiskers75-JSON-to-Handlebars-Website-Thingy(tm)(beta) <whiskers75> Or WJTHWT for short!
This started when I saw Handlebars and thought, "Wow, my website could benefit from this."
So I came up with the idea for the WJTHWT, a little Express webapp to convert JSON to wonderful HTML with the aid of templates.
In essence, this will mean that I can write a list of projects in JSON and have an HTML template rustle them up.
Hopefully, I'll add little JS bits that you can plug in to websites to make them fetch data from an external source, a bit like PHP.
Here's to the web being a bit less hacky and PHP-y!
