Hello! We're The Corvid Forest, an adult-bodied DID system and a religious cult survivor. Our collective online name is Crow, feel free to use it. We are White/Filipino/Ashkenazi, transgender, queer/aroace, and multiply disabled both physically and mentally. We welcome asks about anything. He is famous for the line "I didn't speak out because...," and this is bullshit because he DID speak out! Repeatedly, in public and private, in words and deeds, he spoke out -- in favor of Nazi actions! He never spoke out against, but that's not the same thing as not speaking out!

I'm really glad people are bringing up that the first Nazi book burnings happened at the Institute for Sexual Science, but I feel like something that gets missed is that the whole reason they went to the Institute first was because Hirschfeld was Jewish.

I've had people tell me that I'm erasing LGBTQ people (even though I'm a nonbinary bisexual myself), that I'm gatekeeping the Holocaust (wat) and other things to the point I pretty much left social media for awhile as a whole. But historical context is so important for this because the Nazis were of the mind that Jewish people were corrupting the German youth into degeneracy (this is part of why I hate that this word is being used so much again now) and sought to eradicate Jewish scientists, teachers, philosophers, artists etc first and foremost.

See the pattern here? This is important. And this is why you can't ignore that at the core of Nazi bigotry is antisemitism. You would think that wouldn't be a controversial thing to say but here we are.

yep. male privilege =\= situational/conditional safety/benefit when people assume you are a cis man. privilege is something you don’t really have to think about. it is not something you spend significant amounts of time and energy panicking over losing.

for example: a person is assumed to be a cis man, so their ideas are taken more seriously in a meeting. they’ve benefited from this assumption of their gender. a closeted or stealth trans person (who wants to stay closeted/stealth) is going to spend a lot of time and energy (and probably a lot of money) on making sure that people continue to assume they are a cis man because the consequences of people finding out they are not could be severe. they could be fired, harassed at work, even face violence. a cis man does not have to worry about any of that.

I think it's important to remember that every single religion can be twisted for violence and oppression and abuse and control. Yes, including the one that you think can't be. But quickly, before anti-theists start saying that religion is an inherently evil violence accelerant, remember that this is true for any ideology, including anti-theism.
