The Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who is an Autistic Character
- Good at Masking his Autistic traits, they come out most when he’s excited or frustrated
- He’s a good mimic and can change his accent
- he is very blunt when talking to people, doesn’t mean to be rude
- doesn’t always know he’s being rude. He asks others if he’s being rude
- he has exaggerated facial expressions
- He’s highly intelligent but sometimes slow to comprehend (I’m pretty boy?, I’m the expert?)
- doesn’t control the volume of his voice well, will suddenly be shouting
- Info dumps: ‘I talk too much that’s my problem’ and he will talk ‘90 miles per hour’ and expect others to keep up
- echolalia: has phrases he likes to repeat like ‘allons-y’, he enjoys saying words that rhyme or are alliterative. Starts quoting the lion king to make a point.
- same food: bananas, he certainly talks about them a lot maybe he eats them a lot too
-sensory things: prefers to wear sneakers/sand shoes possibly for sensory reasons. Wears suits but rarely has the shirt button all the way up and wears the tie loose. Likes tight clothing but not around his neck. Licks things. Sensory seeking
- Stimming: Ten will bounce on his toes and rock back on his heels, he’s said to ‘stroke bits of the Tardis,’ likes running and jumping on things, will suddenly take off running, likes to toss and catch things like his sonic, pressure Stims by wearing a heavy overcoat and putting His hands in his pockets, will tug on/ruffle his hair and rub/pull on his ear
- Special Interests: building things with electronics, books, his own hair (just the fact that he chooses to fix it ‘I’m experimenting with back combing’ means he’s taken a particular and special interest in it, as the doctor isn’t usually that concerned with their hair.) Rose
