My mental illness(es) does not make me less deserving of love and respect
Autism $peaks can NOT be trusted, they would rather see us dead. #boycottautismspeaks #redinstead https://www.instagram.com/p/CNIqYZ4A32B/?igshid=141oxypdnbcfm

Callout post for TheAutismCafe
If you know anything about me, I hate call out posts. Call out posts do nothing but start drama, but in this case Iām making an exception.
The Autism cafe constantly speaks over Autistic people. They also make Autism out to be this horrible curse when that couldn't be further from the truth. They also share one sided screenshots where they are called out for their actions to make us look like the bad guy. They also refuse to listen to us when we say that ABA is abuse. They have also stated that it is okay to grieve when your child gets the Autism diagnosis.Ā
Your child isnāt dead sweetheart. Your child is Autistic and is right there. It is not okay to grieve a child that is still living.
I have said it before and I will say it again: We Autistics can speak for ourselves. No, you cannot speak for us if you are not Autistic yourself. You being an Autism Parent doesnāt give you the right to speak for Autistic people.
We are Autistic. We are speaking. Many of us have spoken out about the abuse behind ABA therapy.
Verbal communication is only one form of communication.
Your child can speak for himself, you just donāt want to let him.
Instead you would rather put him in an abusive ātherapyā that is essentially conversion therapy for Autism, and ignore Autistic people who actually know what theyāre talking about, so that you can share one sided screenshots and make us out to be the bad guy.
