So here is all the free stuff I collected over my day at the Melbourne Fitness & Health Expo!
1. Macadamia & Coconut bites: People were all over the place handing out free samples of foods all day, but we didn’t get many whole packets so this one was good. Unfortunately I’m allergic to nuts so I couldn’t try this one (as well as many other yummy looking things on offer) but I’m sure the boyf will enjoy them.
2. Cookies & Cream Protein bar: We tried many protein bars throughout the day and this one probably didn’t even come into the top 5. There was protein everything at the expo! Protein chocolate, protein cookies, protein bars, protein shakes, protein coffee, protein juice, the list goes on! Too bad I’m not a mega fan of protein stuff!
3. Bupa sweat band: We kind of walked around just talking to every stand because we were scared we were going to miss something good. So when we stopped at the bupa stand they asked me if I wanted to hop on a bike and ride as fast as I could for 30 seconds. So of course I said yes! Didn’t get anywhere near the record for the day but at least I got something free out of it!
4. FIA Fitnation towel: At FIA Fitnation we did a grip strength test, and a standing long jump and neither boyf nor I got very close to the records but got little show bags out of it. I’ve been meaning to get an exercise towel for ages but I’m kind of against microfibre towels and the way they catch on your skin. Anyway, I’ll give this one a go and if I hate it I might have to get a normal towel for the gym.
5. Hydralyte Sports: The lady was telling us that this has the same fluid/electrolytes in it as an exercise drink like Poweraid, but Hydralyte only has 1/3 of the sugar as an exercise drink, and it also contains heaps of vitamins and minerals that you don’t get in an exercise drink. Super keen to give this a go.
6. Vital Greens: I was really keen to try this one! It was the first stand we stopped at when we walked in and it looked really amazing and healthy. But when I drank it, it was so incredibly sweet I almost spit it out by accident! Veggies shouldn’t be that sweet, no matter what form they come in!
7. Plantronics skipping rope: These guys have wireless bluetooth headphones and wrap around the back of your head and hook over your ears so they don’t fall off while exercising. They are also waterproof and really hardy. They were going for over $100 so I wasn’t keen to get any on the day, but she gave us a show bag anyway and then asked boyf what “Hong Kong Rugby” was because it was written on his t-shirt.
So we had a massive day, it was exhausting walking around that huge place for hours! But it was so worth it cause I learned lots of things and got some cool stuff.
Speaking of cool stuff, tomorrow I’ll be showing you what fitness gear I bought! I’m also so excited to share something really cool with you on Friday! Can’t wait! Catch you soon!
