Can you order Barry, Caitlin, Cisco, Eddie, Eowells, Harry, Joe and Wally according to your preference and point what you like and doesn't like about them?

Barry, I like his assertiveness, his willing attitude to try and fail, his genius intellect, his heart, his wanting to help in any way (before he got with his sister Iris who now controls when and where he pisses).

I don’t like Barry when he is being a moron. Careless mistakes. Staying infatuated with Iris, actually marrying his family, his constant need for other people to help him on simple matters, when he goes into something without a plan.

Caitlin, her kind, sweet nature, her love of helping people, she’s smart, her platonic friendship with Barry and Cisco, Dr. Snow, her bravery, her deep but hidden love for Barry that’s unspoken, her self-confidence.

I don’t like Caitlin’s downplaying self-value sometimes, her selling herself short, being OOC, not being smart, allowing herself to get beat up by people she can easily defeat, because she is so sweet, her holding back just how powerful she really is, allowing Iris and others to take advantage of her, not standing up for herself. Everything that she started out to be, she already is, I don’t like when the writers erase who she really is.

Cisco, his humor, his genius with bio engineering, his ability to be strong, he is an amazing friend to Barry and Caitlin, his rapport with Harry, his love of pop culture, Carlos’ raw acting, his smile, his way of turning the most tragic moments positive and hopeful.

Don’t like it when Cisco is down on his luck, cynical, depressed, not being hopeful, outing others when they are not ready to share their secret (like with Caitlin and her frost powers), the entire Season 3 of Cisco was OOC, crying, solitary, I just don’t like anti social Cisco.

Eddie, he is a nice guy, selfless, deserves better than he settled for in Iris, brave in a soldier kind of way, the real hero, underrated, Rick is a fantastic actor.

This one was hard for me but the only flaw I could think of was his relationship with Iris, again, he could do way better than her. She abused him, just like she is currently abusing Barry. She manipulated him into telling her classified detective information. I guess he has (or had) the flaw of allowing himself to be manipulated by Iris too many times.

Eowells, he is smart, one step ahead, actually does the things that he says he’s going to do, played brilliantly by Tom Cavanagh, his demeanor both when he was in the role of Wells and Eobard, static difference, his brutal honesty, he was the best villain the show has produced, there is a reason why they can never really get rid of him.

No flaw on this one, maybe in the time travel episode falling for Barry’s words so he won’t kill him.

Harry, genius, straight thinker, says facts leaves feelings at home, can have a good heart (probably being around the team brought it out of him), Tom Cavanagh playing him as the voice of reason, acting is perfection.

His one flaw, why didn’t he let Savitar kill Iris? Seriously? I pegged this guy as smart, pretty much everyone fucked up there. He has no emotional attachment to Iris so, again, I ask, why?

Joe, he’s a cop, Jesse is the best actor next to Tom, his love for his children: Wally, Iris and Barry, his ability to forgive and move on, he can be funny when he wants to be, lighten a scene up, his close relationship, both working and personal with Barry, they are the best father-son team.

A couple of things, letting his stupidity sometimes take over his decisions over emotional choices. When he let Abra Kadabra out of the pipeline which in turn lead to Caitlin dying becoming Killer Frost. He can have an overbearing protectiveness of his kids, like with Wally, I’m glad it was a phase, he does it with Barry and Iris.

Wally, I like his smile, something about his youthful personality, his willingness to help, he’s a great mechanic, has so much potential, Keiynan is a great choice, shame they introduced him only to say bye, he also fills out the Kid Flash suit well.

I didn’t like him acting too young sometimes.He has a need to prove he is better than Barry, even his ex Jessie Wells. I didn’t like when he was acting like a brat, of course it’s the writing, I really hated that he was barely used when he could have been.

For your other anon, I don't think Caitlin is going anywhere because Killer Frost has just got a new suit. So it means it is a new version of her and she is probably staying that way for a while- I don't think she would get a whole new suit if she lasted for only one ep. That's probably a warmth suit, I just wonder if she will become a villain or not. My biggest problem with it is how her hair has changed? If she became KF on Flashpoint than it is okay, but if she turns into a meta after it +

isn’t much different, Barry will still be a forensic scientist and as faras we know Caitlin will still be a doctor. Considering how many times they’verepeated stuff, I don’t know what to think.

There seems to be a lot of mystery regarding Caitlin and I don’t believethey couldn’t release anything about her if her story weren’t important.However, I don’t always agree with what they consider good. I just thinkthis would be a good opportunity to explore negative results of scientificexperiments. Assuming Wells will build the particle accelerator sooner orshe will get her power from a different experiment. I liked the idea of showinghow some powers were damaging (for example, Bette’s, Farooq’s and that guywith precocious aging). I’d love to see Caitlin as a heat vampire while doingevery she can to help herself without stealing people’s warmth. It wouldif they explored those tragic characters instead of just turning them intovillains that end up killed. I know the latter is easier for them but I hateit. They’ve missed a lot of opportunities with the metas imo. They should’veexplored the ones who had their lives ruined like the ones I’ve mentionedand even use kids who didn’t know how to control their powers and accidentallycaused trouble. I hope they do something more emotional and with a positiveoutcome with her. I’d like Caitlin to ultimately become a hero since we alreadygot her evil doppelganger. I remember how KF was the only one who dared toattack and stop Zoom (even if it were temporarily, nobody else did it).

The writers also analyzed a lot of comics and handpicked her, so I believe there’s a specific reason. Caitlin’s and Cisco’s powers are some of the few Barry can use: the visions so he can prepare himself and sonic/ice powers when heis advantage against his rival. I think Caitlin’s even better because Cisco’spowers are as great or better than the Flash’s in the comics. Caitlin canmake icicles and make it snow, which can be really helpful but wouldn’tsteal Barry’s spotlight. Cisco powers seem reduced because of it. Idk. ButCaitlin isn’t really a villain on the comics like Crystal and Louise. Somaybe everything’s a coincidence or the writers have a long-term plan thistime. Also, Frost is part of DC’s superhero girls and she and Flash constantlyhang out. Sterling Gates (I think that’s his name) talked about wanting tobring Vibe back to the comics with Caitlin and The Flash. I know the threethings are are different, but she has so much potential for me and I hopethey use it.

The bottom line is they will not get rid of a popular fan favorite, sameas Cisco, Caitlin and Danielle are safe. It seems like the show is repeatingthe same pattern as Arrow, when things started to shift was mid-season. Onecan only hope.

I don’t think they will do the heat vampire arc, just a guess. Judging fromhow safe they’ve been playing it I doubt they will give us something mature.They have turning her into a hero, which has directly to do with Danielle.Right, Killer Frost had balls back then, even though she was technically a villainon paper, she didn’t really have the soul for being one.

Cisco can rupture organs and body parts, I’d like to see that happen, again,too mature, they won’t go there, it’s a family show. Again with Caitlin,she’ll probably be Elsa-themed, nothing too bombastic, maybe a surprise ora tease but I don’t believe they will suddenly mature her out of the littlecocoon of fluffiness they made her to be. I hope they have a plan with herto say the least. Danielle is so well-loved. I know I thought this but Iconsidered Gates to be a red herring, if he surprises us or not remains to be seen. It depends on how much he cares about the heart of the show.

Thanks to a delete scene of 1x10 we know Caitlin thought to Barry before dying, on 1x12 the song "Crazy for you" seems to refer to Snowbarry, on 1x19 Caitlin answers to (false)Barry's kiss. There are many parallels between Snowbarry and Barry and Christina of The Flash 1990. So: this couple seems to be already decided, even if it has been hided behind Westallen. Will it become canon? Really hope it.

It seems like the show is conflicted between comics canon and what works naturally in their hands right now. There are multiple parallels between the original show in 1990 and 2014, I don’t think the writers planned for that to happen. What they have planned isn’t working on screen. It seems like when WA is canon on the show, it doesn’t parallel to the original comic lore, or at least doesn’t have the fundamentals of what made Iris and Barry so great to read. I think Snowbarry might be given a shot but it’s too soon to tell because “when” is the ultimate query here.

Do you really think that writers will romantically pursued WA until the end of the show? Gosh I hope not because I hate this relationship, there is no chemistry between the actors, it seems really forced, I think the rest of Season 3 is going on WA

Well if that’s the case they can kiss their hardcore audience, the people who aren’t heavily into shipping or romance, just want the action and the awesome arcs, goodbye. It’s actually insulting to mythos to prolong such a mediocre couple with a bad origin. I don’t recall a lot of people being thrilled to see any more interaction between Iris and Barry going into Season 4. It’ll probably get worse before it gets better.

I don't really see anyone besides Barry as a lead character. Everyone's screentime and relevance is balanced, no matter which name appears first. A proof order doesn't really matter is how Rick Cosnett's name used to appear right after Danielle's and his character died. It is not like Rush Hour or Supernatural which clearly have two leads and most if not all other characters are guests and have less importance.

Yup, what I was commenting on was the quality of story. I don’t know about fair and balanced, especially not in Season 3. I’ve never seen a more useless character as a love interest get more screen time for doing nothing. Agreed on Rick, shame he can’t come back.

I love your blog but just to correct you a bit, Caitlin isn't a lead character. She's on the same as Cisco and Harry.

The only true lead will always be Barry Allen.

What would you change and what would you keep from the season 1, 2 and 3 (from stuff that has been announced, since it hasn't premiered yet). And what are your hopes for next seasons?

Change? The melodrama that has infested the show. What I hope? For the show to come back to its roots and celebrate superhero’s being selfless again. Barry has a lot of maturing to do.

You're probably as informed as us, but do you think the writers are sidelining Caitlin or writing her off The Flash? I didn't like how they wrote her on season two (and even with her frustrating arcs, I still liked her better than most characters) or the season as a whole. However, I thought they started to fix their mistakes on episode 2.22. The thing is, I am still skeptical because the last two episodes don't erase the mess the rest were. Plus, released audiovisual content barely reveal +

anything about her. Helbing has said she is the most shocking character on the premiere and I know there is an episode called Killer Frost.. But writers haven’t kept their promises for season two and even if he is right, shocking is not the same as impressive. I wonder if they want to put Iris at the STAR Labs and are turning her into a villain for it - since that fandom seems to be against everything that’s not WA, especially the only other piece of female representation the show has. Or maybe the mystery about her is because her storyline is big and even crucial for more characters as well? I mean, even though I don’t trust the writers completely, it is weird not releasing ONE picture of her. Perhaps they released WA and WW stuff because they’d filmed outdoor so we had already been spoiled. Idk. I know you don’t know it neither but I like your thinking. 😊😚

No I don’t. They can’t write off or sideline a lead character. That will be bad for the show and sink their ratings. The amount of negative feedback they got from 2x21 “The Runaway Dinosaur” for ignoring Caitlin completely was pretty harsh. The writers paid the price for sidelining her just for one episode. Even the articles that were posted stated Killer Frost should not have been killed off in 2x19 and everyone noticed when she wasn’t around. 2x22 “Invisible” was a decent episode. There was more team work, since the heart of the team was actually there this time. Still felt like make up sex to me. Not great but not bad either.

It doesn’t erase it because too much damage was done to the build up. There was no oomph in the writing, it seems like they gave up with trying to plan out sequences and character personas. Teddy’s acting was fairly decent. I loved his menacing drop from previous episodes, he just became a Hitler version of a speedster.

Where did Helbing say this? I’m not saying he didn’t but where was this said so I can post the link. I haven’t heard a lot on Caitlin, but as of recent, because of Kevin Smith, there has been teasing of the return of Killer Frost. The writers will lie to you to get you to watch. They only probably do what’s right when their ratings suffer. If they say one thing and do something the complete opposite, then you know it’s going to be a rough ride. The brothers don’t know what they’re doing, either that or they are being so secretive they really are trying to right their wrongs and give Caitlin her progression she’s deserved since Season 1. I hope it’s the latter.

Fuck WA, they are the true pests of this fandom. They make everything horrible and the writers are rewarding this behavior by giving Iris more screen time than she deserves. God knows why. I’m hoping it’s big with Caitlin or else why show so little? She’s a lead character, there is no way they could show Cisco, who’s a side character, so much in the trailer and neglect Caitlin. So much WA was shown it just grew nauseating. I think what they spoiler is because they just want to reveal what they care least about us knowing. Did they spoiler the death of Henry Allen? No, though we did see it coming, still was rough to watch. They wouldn’t show something like that, or Barry going back to save Nora, or the death of Killer Frost. So if they aren’t spoiling Caitlin, maybe it’s because she was filing scenes mainly indoors and they are working on keeping her arc top secret so the real story happens. Because whatever happens to her, happens to Barry and Cisco, even Harry and Joe. Not so much Iris. But it will effect Barry, which is why we haven’t gotten much on it. So in a since, Caitlin is the endgame.

Hi! I just wanted to say that I love the idea of talking about spoilers for season 3--super excited for October 4th. My question is: how do you think the dynamic of team Flash (Barry, Cisco, Wells, and Caitlin) will change going into season 3? Do you think there will be any significant relationship changes? Yeah I just thought it’d be cool since people are making suggestions and stuff before the season starts in S3. You can ask or suggest anything and we’ll dive into it.

As far as the dynamic goes, like I said in the previous ask, I really don’t know what the writers have planned. They teased very little, WA is happening, not shocked, just something the writers want to get over with so they can focus on other things. I think Joe and Cisco’s relationship to Barry looks to be compromised. There is nothing on Caitlin, but we do know her Mom will be featured in an episode which was already filmed. They are currently still on 3x07, which is titled “Killer Frost.” So your mind can wonder on that one. I’m thinking it’ll be a Caitlin-centric episode, maybe we’ll see her Mom, maybe her brother Charlie, who was mentioned in 2x19. Significant relationships? The only real relationship that’s important is Team Flash, if that’s broken up then so far it’ll be an unfamiliar story line to see. There’s so many directions they can could in, I hope Barry has learned his lesson from messing with time.

We saw Cisco’s circumstance, nothing on Caitlin. I’m curious about the team dynamic and how they are doing knowing they don’t all know each other. Harrison Wells, maybe he is still working in science but slightly OOC. I have a feeling most of the characters will be out of character. It’s something that maybe will last for the first half of Season 3. I actually can’t wait to see it.

I hate how they killed any chance of having Cobalt Blue on Earth 1. Unless they invent Nofa had a child before but was wrongly considered stillborn and ended up with another family. But that would feel like a desperate adjustment to fix the problem. Sure, he can be from another Earth, but being Barry's brother would bring so much more tension..

There’s a hot chance they may do a turn around and bring him back, that’s if they have a plan with his character. His origin is linked up to Barry as you know, it might be really interesting further into the show they do some arc to Cobalt Blue. Earth 2 or 3, give or take. Maybe we get to see him in Season 4. You never know what the writers are going for.

What do you want to see happening to the each regular character and what villains and type of angst you would like to see?

What I want to see is just growth on every character. If a character is just standing there saying lines, then you need to reevaluate that.

Mirror Master I’m waiting for. The Top is my dream but I think we’re getting Grodd to delve into, I’ll wait for Top and Abra Kadabra. I think they have some ideas planned for Grodd before be get into other villains. He gets better and better.

Do you know if the rumor is true that the because of an actresses manipulation BTS that another actresses screen time is reduced

No idea. But there have been problematic actresses before. It’s Hollywood after all. If a character’s screen time is reduced then it’s a writer’s decision. If it’s a character they are sidelining to prop up another’s botched story line, then take it up with the creators/writers/producers.

Do you think that the CW is confident enough that their show will still be a success even if they ignore/push out the SB fandom? Because it seems like they are hellbent on doing just that.

No it won’t be. If they keep shoehorning and pandering to the lowest common denominator they can kiss their ratings goodbye. Not many people like IW or WA together, most are just fans of the show, or watch for other reasons. I don’t believe the show will stand on its own two feet if they force something without foundation or narrative.
