With E3 2017 officially done, this year’s show like the last 4 years was a letdown. That said, there were great announcements about upcoming software releases from Home Consoles to PC. These top five choices from this year’s expo are what I would personally call the showstoppers, or the show-stealers. Yet, before we go right into those five choices let us take a glimpse at some honorable mentions.

Racing to the finish of our Road to E3 2017, we have our last contender with their presence that is going to be just as big as the other two; Nintendo! After two years of having some lackluster showings at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, does the Big N have a trump card to put on a fantastic performance at the Los Angeles Convention Center since they are not doing another press conference like they've been doing for the last few years? Seeing as how they are doing another E3 Digital Event in the form of the Nintendo E3 Spotlight presentation, an ARMS Tournament for their newest fighting game, and having the Treehouse doing another consecutive slew of behind-the-scenes events on their upcoming games while announcing some newer surprises, will Nintendo strike big this time around? What is new with Super Mario Odyssey as that is their biggest spotlight? What is next for The Legend of Zelda? Are there actually two, new Metroid games in the works? What is Retro Studios' own game they are working on for the Switch? What are some of the new Nintendo 3DS games they have in the works if they plan on supporting it for another few years? We have many other questions, but this should be the year where Nintendo either goes big or goes home since they have a new console that is already launched. Continuing where we left off, it is time for us to tackle Sony with our own predictions for them when they have their press conference on the Monday before the Electronic Entertainment Expo! For having so many surprises from last year, is Sony expected to have an extremely safe showing which they have not done for quite a long time? Will Shenmue III and Final Fantasy VII Remake be shown in some capacity and even be playable at the event? Does Sony have surprises up our sleeves that we are not sure about? After months of the Nintendo NX being speculated, rumored, and even unknown to the masses since January 2015 by the late Satoru Iwata, we now have a clear indication of where Nintendo is going next with their home consoles. Thus, we are introduced to the Nintendo Switch; a hybrid console between a home and portable platform! While we have not received all the details about the console, the release date, or launch games for the new device, we did get a ton of other things mentioned like the look of the console, the games that are confirmed and unconfirmed, a huge list of third-party support, and some of the Nintendo Switch's functionalities. Join RRPG, FighterXaos, Carlioo41, and TheBadGamer as they undergo the first part of a 2-part discussion that lasted for nearly 3 hours! The end of an era, for sure! The last, founding father of ScrewAttack.com, Craig Skistimas, has left the brand within Roosterteeth and started a new one within them; Game Attack. Since ScrewAttack was a prevalent name to the gaming community and retro junkies alike for the last 10 years, FighterXaos and RRPG along with Omegamario17 reflect back at the brand's history, our favorite and least favorite things that came out of them within their 10-year life, and where we see both it and Game Attack within the next 10 years. ScrewAttack was the true definition of where the gaming community could get together and be united with bringing about more exposure to not only ScrewAttack, but amongst themselves; that was until they were bought out by Fullscreen, Inc. and fully absorbed into the Roosterteeth family to where everything they do was more about the money instead of its original vision. Sadly, it seems to be the case when it comes to fan projects and all as they took down both AM2R (Another Metroid 2 Remake), the old issues of Nintendo Power through an Archives website, and took down Pokemon Uranium which was the most original of the fan games created. We honestly don't know what Nintendo is thinking as they could have handled all these situations better. RRPG, FighterXaos, and Omegamario17 join in as they discuss this whole ordeal going down and what Nintendo should have done to make this better. After a successful KickStarter that went through three, long delays, a sudden urge to collect more money for more goals that weren't accounted for, an SJW who previously worked at Comcept who treated the Mega Man fans like crap, many obligatory needs such as a live-action movie, CGI cartoon, and an anime series, and starting another KickStarter when this game has not been finished at the time, Mighty No. 9 has finally released to very underwhelming and negative results. Keiji Inafune, the man who we gave too much credit for being the father of Mega Man, releases a game that lacks vision, polish, and high quality visuals that makes this new game look like a high-end, late PlayStation 2 game. Since RRPG was the only one to play the game and beat it, he shares his thoughts on the game with FighterXaos as well as the terrible history behind this game's development. Was Mighty No. 9 truly worth the wait, or was it a sign of a successfully, funded game through KickStarter that ended up as a result of undesirable circumstances? Yup! E3 2016 has come and gone, and the event left another impression toward everyone with there being some unique and surprising gems while most others left us very underwhelmed. With it all past us, what do The Game Riffers think of this year's biggest gaming convention in the United States? While RRPG and FighterXaos are willing to explain their thoughts, 16bitjeff was unable to join this time around because of personal life issues and/or being under the weather.
