I've been seeing TMA fanart for *years* on the peripherals of my feeds, and I always assumed that there was official art or clear descriptions or something because there was always variety in the designs, but there were things that were almost always the same, just like fanart of any visual media.

last night was the first time i recognized my chosen name in a dream. i was calling out to myself, to another version of myself. and i hesitated. paused as my other self sprinted away from someone, something i was unaware of. he ran and i stayed. silent. grasping for something i was unsure of in the first place.

i had forgotten my own name.

i fumbled for words, started humming a familiar syllable before it hit me like a gunshot to the chest, like a shooting star like a halo because it was so obvious my name is

“gabriel,” i said. gabriel. it rolled on my tongue like a smooth marble. i turned around. the other me did, anyway. he turned around. i swear, through the haze of a dream, through the shifting colors and shadows that didnt make sense. he smiled at me.

i probably smiled back. its instinct. i dont remember. im sure i’ll remember sometime soon.
