An Unexpected Party

The Hobbit Roleplay is a self-hosted play-by-post roleplay based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and the cinematic adaptations by Peter Jackson, with the films taking precedence where there are discrepancies. Our plot is set loosely around the time of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings (with liquid time in place). THRP offers members an opportunity to explore Middle-earth as part of a warm, welcoming and enthusiastic community that incorporates both canon and original characters. We encourage world-building to fill gaps in the existing lore. Here, we will be posting roleplay resources and all things Tolkien.
