It’s Super Bowl 50 weekend, but it’s also Black History Month too! Who says you can’t do both? When you’re in the muhfuggin‘ Bay/Yay Area–often described as one of America’s most diverse and thriving artistic and cultural hubs–there are no limits of things to do and explore. With all the Super Bowl festivities going on, including parties hosted by Diddy, Rick Ross, and others, don’t let that stop you from taking full advantage of all that the Bay Area has to offer, including its rich Black history and culture that more than Huey P. Newton and the Black Panther Party (though worthy of exploration and celebration).
Of course, you can visit the standard tourist attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge or Alcatraz Island, but if have the time and are looking to mix in a bit of Black history with Super Bowl madness you should definitely consider visiting one of these sites below:
