i feel like growing up on tumblr as a gen z in their late 20s/millennials in their 30s now is suuuch a unique platform cuz all the younger gen Z kids NOW grow up on tiktok and the format is just so much different...i remember being obsessed with tumblr from 2012-2015 and consuming all my content and romanticizing certain things/interests because of this damn website omg. like i really am a tumblr mental asylum patient

the way this website is literally just shitposts/text + random anime gifs and some photography. it's definitely more wholesome and organic than twitter/X.

when i be doomscrolling thru X/twitter yeah there's some cool content but you can TELL most of the people running these accounts are engagement bots, i feel like tumblr doesn't do that. at least i haven't seen much of it on here. people who genuinely use tumblr earnestly in the big 2026 are just here to see random shit and have no interest in making money off this website. twitter/X is primarily annoying people who just try to ragebait to get engagement and tumblr is JUST.
