Me to me when I repeat past mistakes when I know better
“Because you are love.”
I remember when I was younger, anytime I watched a movie where the characters have to kill a scary monster/alien, I always thought the act of killing it was intended to be part of the horror. Like there’s this amazing creature that we’ve never seen before, and maybe under different circumstances we could’ve coexisted with it, but it’s trying to attack you and you have to defend yourself, but by destroying it you also destroy the ability to ever understand it and that’s sad and is supposed to make you feel conflicted.
It was not until well into my adulthood that I realized most people do not have complicated feelings about movies where people have to kill a scary alien monster, nor is that necessarily meant to be part of the narrative (unless it very obviously is). They just want the scary thing to die because it’s scary. I don’t have a real conclusion to this I just started thinking about it for some reason.
god is ignoring my safe word
I love you, crowsfeet; I love you, gray hairs; I love you, sun spots; I love you, smile lines; I love you, crinkle between my eyebrows; I love you, crooked smile; I love you, visible signs of a life lived
we all know adult humans dont get enough enrichment but the other day i was walkin home past an empty playground and impulsively ran over to spin myself on this zipline merry-go-round contraption for a few minutes and it really did feel like it unlocked some neglected part of my brain. like damn we really should all go outside and play more. fuck. they werent kidding with this play time thing. have you guys heard about play time. it could be huge.

I am actually so tired of people saying Shigure is the villain of Fruits Basket. Is he manipulative? Yes. Is he conniving? Yes. But he absolutely cares for Tohru and the younger members of the zodiac. Honestly, the plot of Furuba never would have happened if not for Shigure. He might be doing it so he can be with Akito, but just like the rest of the zodiac (Akito included) he fundamentally cannot NOT love Tohru. She’s the key, and he’s the lock.
Also, his house is sanctuary. He has provided a home not only for Tohru, but for every single zodiac member (Akito included). His home is the place the zodiac members go to, to feel at peace. He’s literally my favorite character except for Tohru; because he actually cares for the zodiac (Kyo included) and he manipulates things so that the entire curse is broken via Kyoru. So he can be with Akito.
He’s not a villain. He’s the linchpin.
Old dude came in the shop and when I said "lemme know if you have any questions" he goes "what was the name of Alexander the Great's horse," thinking he was so funny. I told him Bucephalus, and he was so disappointed. Like his whole day was hanging on beating me at trivia. He says "you're only the second person who knew that" and I said "well, probably the third if you count Alexander the Great." He left without buying anything, and did not say goodbye. I think I honestly hurt his weird little feelings! Sorry I'm a bitch, old man!
I had one of these once, bookshop customer randomly challenged me to name, quote, ‘the only word in English where two u’s are next to each other’, and when I immediately said ‘vacuum’ he looked disappointed and when I pointed out it isn’t even the only word with two u’s next to each other in English and offered ‘continuum’ as an example he looked like I’d just punched his ribcage out his back like a Mortal Kombat character
People claiming this didn’t happen have never worked a day in retail
despite everything, it's still you
