I’ve seen Tumblr being a broken mess before but this post really takes the cake. OP doesnt have a name. If you look in the notes half the reblogs are just colons. I’ve seen people say clicking on OP’s blog brings them to an entirely random one, and that they couldnt exit it. You’ve got people investigating OP, and white girls getting all defensive. So I think now is probably a good time to talk about Blitz’s whole deal as far as character and abilities. On a technical level, she’s more or less a Yakuza Character in the Sonic Universe. Very stoic and grounded in reality, with a serious outlook on most things, but she doesn’t shy away from having fun in the moment or relaxing if it’s appropriate. As a power type, she punches super hard and can take hits that would normally send most people flying back. She’s a fairly heavy weight, as evident by her thicker/“muscular” build compared to most Sonic Characters, and especially compared to most of the female cast. However, her honed experience as a street brawler and underground colosseum fighter makes her attacks deceptively fast and very accurate, mixing brute strength with surgical precision to maximize her damage output. She also has passive static electricity that builds from natural friction between her fur and her clothes, that is both an added “punch” to her normal attacks, and also acts as a visual representation of her version of an “Extreme Heat Mode”.

Why did SEGA ask you to tone down Sonic’s expression from when he and Amy were hugging in Issue 35? Its really bizarre that they’d censor our beloved blue hedgehog’s emotions.

(For those not in the know, this is in reference to a WIP panel I shared where Sonic was blushing while Amy hugged him. In the final version, Sonic’s expression was changed to have much less blush and showing less surprise.)

It’s not bizarre, it’s keeping Sonic in-character; Sonic’s reluctance to show emotional vulnerability around others is a well-established part of his character. That’s not saying Sonic doesn’t feel vulnerability (or negativity), he’s just very private about expressing it and focuses on positivity and confidence around others. Thus, sometimes, if I draw or write something that’s a bit too much for him I’m asked to reel things back. He’s still expressing the same emotion, just in a way that’s in line with his character. Think of it like an actor giving a consistent performance.

People have been arguing over this for months as some sort of smoking gun proving that Sonic does or doesn’t like Amy, and I know my clarification here won’t stop them. The official stance on Sonic and Amy’s relationship remains the same and can be found with just a little research on wikis or Sonic Channel, nothing I’ve said or done is some great secret revealed. They like each other, but Sonic just isn’t the kind of guy who is going to make goo-goo eyes at Amy or perform grand acts of romance. If you wanna see that, that’s what fan works are for.

Second, we‘re not asking to see Sonic make goo goo eyes at Amy or perform grand romantic acts. All we’re asking is to FINALLY see Sonic and Amy go on one date together AND we‘d love to see Sonic open up to Amy if Sonic Team allows it.

They went on a date like a couple weeks ago in the little story for the recent Sonic Channel illustration so mission accomplished?  There’s been other instances in past media that we basically them going on informal dates, but more stuff along those lines would be neat.

As for Sonic opening up, that’s something Sega will have to decide and I have no say on the matter. The best you’ll get for now is that with Sonic his actions always speak louder than words. It’s very disheartening to be asked over and over for something I don’t have the authority to do, when I’m already giving all that’s allowed.

Bass Reeves was so dedicated to the law, he even arrested his own son Bennie for the murder of his wife. Bennie was sentenced to life in prison. With over 3000 arrests, 14 kills, went his entire 32 year career in law enforcement without being shot once.

He was assigned to bring in the notorious female outlaw Belle Starr. Once she got wind who was after her she turned herself into the federal court.

Reeves was one of a few Marshalls who would venture into Indian territory *oklahoma*. After the age of 67 he retired in 1907. He enjoyed his short lived retirement as a police officer in Muskogee Oklahoma, his assigned beat had 0 crime reported until he died at the age of 71 of Bright’s disease.

He was one of the true gun slingers of the west.

I love the story of Bass Reeves!

One of his famous tactics was, if he was captured or in danger by a criminal he was hunting down, he would ask them to read a letter from his wife before they killed him. He used their distraction to free himself and get the upper hand.

He was also a freed slave. George Reeves, his owner and reason for his surname, took Bass with him to fight in the Civil War. However, George became violently angry after Bass beat him at a card game, and Bass was forced to fight him (or kill, on some accounts) in self defense.

After running away and entering Native American territory, Bass learned how to speak the languages of the ‘Five Civilized Tribes’ (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muskogee, Seminole). This part of his life is where he mastered marksmanship. He got married and had a family after the Emancipation Proclamation was declared, and then later became a Marshal, going on the adventures listed above (and many more… Another famous criminal that Bass captured was Bob Dozier.)

He was the very first black US Marshal. May we never forget him, as history would suffer to lose such an outstanding figure.

Sonic with Sally in Archie comics is because his character is more deeper and developed (he has more friends with different personalities off of) than just Sonic wanting freedom and running, and told Sally he'll slow down for her.

Violating a core aspect of Sonic’s character does not equal a deeper, more developed character.

What it does equal is a writer who simply does not understand the character or willingly chooses to ignore established personality to further his OTP.

Sonic as a character represents that desire to be free. To not be tied by the rules of the adult world that sometimes keeps us from doing what is right. 

In the game verse, he has two very close and important friends in both Tails and Amy. Those two kids love and care greatly for Sonic. Both of them also know that Sonic has no master, that he belongs to no one and understand his love for freedom. That’s why they work so hard to keep up with him, since neither of them would ever dare to take away from what makes Sonic special. They are there to support him in every way they can and in doing so, they too become very inspiring characters themselves.

With characters like Sally Acorn and Chris Thorndyke, it’s the other way around, with Sonic being there to support them at the expense of what makes Sonic be Sonic.

This concept just does not work. It’s not only because there is never a given reason to make them deserving of Sonic (other than writer’s favoritism) but also because the very idea of the embodiment of freedom betraying it’s essence for another character who cannot keep up is nothing but a selfish wish-fulfillment fantasy.
