WEAR SUNSCREEN
IT DOESN'T FEEL GOOD ON MY FACE AND IT'S A HASSLE
It’ll feel better on your face than topical chemotherapy
If sunscreen is really not happening for you, for whatever reason, then you need to do what our ancestors did and shade yourself with clothing. Get long sleeved shirts made from colored linen (white may be too transparent) and a big hat.
Do not bake. Humans are not suited to baking.
also please, for the love of g-d, do not trust anyone on social media telling you that sunscreen you can buy in the store is bad for you or to make your own or use pure zinc or whatever. there is so much science that goes into making sunscreen and it's designed to protect you.
and yes, everyone should wear sunscreen, no matter your skin tone.
and yes, its made of chemicals. youll never believe this but water is also a chemical.
sun damage is EXTREMELY serious even if skin cancer is treatable you really dont want to risk it.
also being sunburnt just fucking sucks a lot i made this post bc yesterday i was outdoors for several hours and i thought i had put enough sunscreen on and i DID but i seem to have missed a few spots and now the skin on my shoulders is super swollen and warm to the touch and painful. sunburns SUCK and i promise you, as a person who also used to fucking hate sunscreen bc of my sensory issues, its much more unpleasant to be burnt.
