some of y’all will be engaging in witch hunt, accusing writers left and right and then wondering why more and more writers take their works down and don’t share them with you ungrateful losers anymore.
“this fic looks like it was created by ai” yeah that’s because ai was trained on human-made works and it was trained to mimic human-made works.
you claim you hate ai because ai harms real artists, yet you are out there accusing and harassing artists because “their vibes just aren’t right”. at this point, you are the ones who cause more harm — to art and the writing community — than ai does.
you are the ones killing art and writing community, the community you want to “protect against ai”.
so at this point, you’re killing the community faster than ai is. good luck when the community you want to protect has no human-made work left because you accused and harassed genuine artists/writers away and the only things that are left for you to read are actual ai-generated fics.
if you think a fic is ai and if that bothers you like it does me, quietly exit the tab and avoid their future works like a normal, decent person. because with every "this fic looks ai" comment, there's always a chance of you wrongly accusing an innocent writer and further harming the writing community as a whole.
sorry i never replied. everyday is blending together and i'm losing sense of time
I'm gonna be honest I love and adore tall and buff tf Scott Boralith (Borealith?), even tho a part of me is absolutely screaming for a short but buff tf Scott
Personally I'm gonna throw in my two cents tho and say tf Scott is the 'strong fat' body type, you know?
Like yes, he is quite muscular with really nice arms, but he also has some tummy and chub-chub, because winters are cold and body fat helps keep the body warm
Dare I say I personally love this the most, like I genuinely have no words to describe how much I love this idea
Pyroscythe Dagmeare move aside, because I really want this guy omg
no, i do not have cameras in your home (yet)
insane to me how, to some people, this is not a common sense
an ode to my online friends (i love you)
Scott Springwell, the first person in history to say "I can fix him" and lowkey actually fix him. His power astounds me
Never underestimate the power of Scott Springwell and his baby face
Let them be in love :(((
I FOUND MY PEOPLE HELLO FELLOW ENJOYER OF THIS SHIP<333
People should not have to share their immensely personal and deeply rooted trauma to justify their interests in fiction, they should just be able to like what they like
I just saw callout post about a disgusting individual that distributed and collected CSEM. A proshipper left a comment on the situation, and ALL of the replies were along the lines of “you can’t be talking” or “that’s your cousin”
NOOO? yall NEED to stop comparing child predators to shipping FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. It makes me sick. Accusing a random innocent person of committing a serious crime over some emoji combos in their name is insane.
call this cringe and reheated nachos all you want but i'll say it for people who haven't heard it before:
LEARN FANDOM ETIQUETTE BEFORE ENGAGING WITH FANDOM SPACES.
dont barge into fandom spaces and complain when you see groups who ship problematic things, who like problematic dynamics, who mischaracterize characters, who write shitty fanfiction one shots of their rare pairs, who do polls on "what character from (fandom) would be most likely to (blank) in truth or dare?"
dont run in and call them cringe, especially in older fandoms too. follow the "dead dove, do not eat" warnings on fics. if you don't know the "dead dove, do not eat" term:
"the "dead dove: do not eat" phrase originates from a 2003 episode of the sitcom arrested development (season 2, episode 3), where character michael bluth opens a paper bag labeled with that phrase, finds a dead dove inside, and says, "i don't know what i expected".
if the fic says its gonna have major character death, tagged with incest, tagged with rape, tagged with unconventional kinks, tagged with literally ANYTHING controversial or something you don't like... don't read it! its made for the people who DO want to read that stuff. back off peoples harmless fiction. its not going to hurt you.
and for fandom members, tag your stuff accordingly to avoid puritans bitching that we're trying to "groom" people, tagging our stuff helps us be less demonized as it gives the ability to filter it out for those who don't want it.
More Maid Abolish :3
As much as I love and appreciate the way Scott Goldsmith is often written as completely cold to everyone and only acts nice for his own gain, I often see this brought up in discussions about Aviscott specifically and how that would or would not work out. I saw a post saying that it would be literally impossible for Scott to love someone (?)
As a low empathy person myself it’s REALLY important to me that you guys know that it IS possible for a low empathy person to just. Randomly start to feel very strongly about one specific person. Like it happened to ME. I don’t know how common this is but. It’s definitely not absurd to me to suggest that with enough time and love Scott could start to feel genuine empathy and love for someone. Idk tho I’m just speaking from personal experience lol don’t throw rocks at me
Another post about Scott Goldsmith and low empathy because something’s been bugging me lately.
So as a low empathy person, it kinda sucks to see people using Scott’s low empathy as the whole motive for all his abuse and wrongdoings. Like just making him evil BECAUSE he’s low empathy and that’s what makes him scary. It’s hurtful to see this, as I can CHOOSE to be kind and respectful to others even if it requires a bit of effort. The way I like to explain it is like, most people will be kind to others unconsciously, while I sometimes have to CHOOSE that. And that doesn’t make me a bad person! I’m not evil! You can be low empathy and super nice!
Scott’s evil because that’s what’s most entertaining to him. He chooses to hurt people because he WANTS to. That’s really interesting to see for me, and especially with his redemption at the end he’s a really interesting character for me. It really upsets me when people water him down like that, and it’s just really bad representation.
Sorry rant over
I also have low natural empathy and am generally more apathetic, which is likely part of why I enjoy Scott Goldsmith so much. (Apart from the nice bit of comedy amidst the dumpterfire angst of everyone else.)
I do not automatically empathize with people, and generally have take time cognitively process someone else's situation if I haven't already had similar experience of my own (I don't even react all that strongly to things that are emotionally charged for me, it takes a lot). Unfortunately, this apparently makes any response seem ingenuine, and like I don't care at all. I do, my perspective is just different.
This is probably why I don't particularly care for the "Scott's not gonna keep his promise" thing.
It's part of why I enjoy his relationship with V!Shelby so much. He clearly considers her repeatedly in his thought process, they have a clear bond. We're not incapable of bonding with people. It's just happens differently.
